Whitechapel: 'Doom Woods' Music Video

The video revolves around the visual concept of the album, starting at the entrance to 'The Valley', before flying through a myriad of ominous forests and evil symoblism. There are moments where the camera spins around to show a pair of feet being dragged along the ground, which adds to the sense of despair.

This evening for Whitechapel it was band practice time in preparation for their upcoming American tour with the almighty Dying Fetus. But before that takes place I had the chance to chat with third guitarist Zach Householder. For any hard core Whitechapel fan it’s well known that it has been half a decade since the sextet were on Australian shores, the last time being with DevilDriver in 2014! Be sure to listen closely on Zach’s take on having three guitarists in the band and how the Deathcore sound has evolved from the early days of making their music as heavy as possible/ achieving the “Brown Note” to now days being able to work with layering and performing those signature layers live!

The song moves between brutal blasting and melodic choruses backed by lightning double kick drum work. So far we've heard a whole bunch of styles across the first four singles including brutal deathcore, dark melody and even clean passages, which led us to suspect The Valley would be a pretty varied record, and the latest cut 'Hickory Creek' has fully confirmed it. Featuring almost zero harsh vocals, the track showcases frontman Phil Bozeman's excellent clean voice with a more direct and anthemic approach to the songwriting.
