The New Iron Man 3 Trailer is Here! We're less than two months away from the release of Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios' much-anticipated Iron Man 3 and, today, the studio has debuted a brand-new trailer that you can check out below. What's more, ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype had the opportunity to take an early look at some footage from the May 3 release and spoke with the film's leading man, Robert Downey Jr. along with writer/director Shane Black and Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige.

Check out our conversation with Downey below and click here for our description of the new footage and an interview with both Black and Feige. The film, fans' first look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe since last year's Marvel's The Avengers, pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. Q: So there will be an "Iron Man 4"? Jon Favreau And Robert Downey Jr. Weigh In On Iron Man 3 And The Avengers! During today's Hero Complex Film Festival, amid Jon Favreau's live Q&A session, 'Tony Stark' actor Robert Downey Jr. made a guest appearance, taking a breather from filming Marvel's crossover spectacle The Avengers.

While they both ultimately discuss the Shane Black-directed third Iron Man installment, and difficulties in it's development, Downey also dots in-depth on so-far filming his 'Tony Stark' reprisal in Avengers. With a transcript courtesy of Slash Film, and the audio available via Collider, check out what was said below! RDJ: Here’s the first thing I want to say. The most difficult part of making Iron Man 3 is going to be negotiating Jon Favreau’s acting deal.Favreau: If The Freak isn’t in it, I’m not doing it. RDJ: - The negotiations have begun and so far I’m in agreement on every point.

Favreau: And I love the franchise and I’m a big fan of Shane’s as well so hopefully I can be helpful because I want to see this thing grow and transform. Richard Donner Says Shane Black Will "Knock Your Socks Off" With Iron Man 3! Don Cheadle on IRON MAN 3, THE AVENGERS, HOUSE OF LIES, Miles Davis Biopic. In his new film, The Guard, Don Cheadle plays humorless FBI agent Wendell Everett in this comedic fish-out-of-water tale of murder, blackmail, drug trafficking and rural police corruption written and directed by John Michael McDonagh. We sat down with Cheadle at a roundtable interview today to talk about The Guard and while we were at it we also asked him about his upcoming projects like Iron Man 3, Showtime’s House of Lies, his Miles Davis project, and The Avengers.

The big news for Marvel fans is that Cheadle says Iron Man 3 will probably shoot in February and “there’s talk of a War Machine spinoff.” With Iron Man 3 hitting theaters May 3, 2013, a February start date makes a lot of sense. In addition, Cheadle says that even though his contract had an option to appear in The Avengers, Marvel hasn’t “exercised that option yet.” Q: It seems like you haven’t done as many comedies as I figure you would considering how funny and wonderful you are when you do comedy. Shane Black Talks IRON MAN 3; Confirms He’ll Write the Script. Last month we learned that Shane Black (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) had been hired to direct Iron Man 3.

However, Marvel “hadn’t figured out” if Black would also write the script. Now it looks like they’ve solved that problem and come to the correct answer: Black will direct and write Iron Man 3. Black, whose previous screenplays include Lethal Weapon and The Last Boy Scout, confirmed he would write Iron Man 3‘s screenplay to an audience at the Omaha Film Festival. He also revealed other interesting aspects about the film, which you can find out after the jump.

Audience member “Krullboy” tells AICN: The studio was not happy with the direction Iron Man 2 took. Iron Man 3 will not be another “two men in iron suits fighting each other” film. I have mixed views on this. Iron Man 3 will be made after The Avengers and will not feature any other heroes from the Marvel Universe. No other heroes?
