With all of the rhetoric being flung about like so much monkey do-do, I thought it was time to make an assessment of just how much AntiSec has done for the masses. The claim of late by Sabu and others within the organization is that they are fighting the “good fight” against the corporgovmilitary industrial complex that is ruling over our lives. Attempts by rivals to uncover details about his real-life identity suggest he is a 30-year-old IT consultant skilled in the Python programming language who has lived in New York. The timing of some his tweets – tweeting "goodnight all" at 0700 BST, or 0200 New York time – implies he is on the US's eastern seaboard.

For the lulz, of course—but what might look lulzy to one person could certainly enrage another. In honor of its 1,000th tweet, the witty wankers of LulzSec released a manifesto of sorts, defending their actions to the angry Internets. We haven't paid that much attention to the whole thing as of yet, but with a recent public statement on why they do what they do, I think it's about time to address this thing. Yes, Lulz Security, the hacking group (or whatever they are) that's been causing quite a bit of amok on the web lately. These guy(s) and/or girl(s) have really been tearing it up lately.

They've been hacking Sony, PBS, Fox, several porn websites, the servers for EVE Online (well, finally some action in that spreadsheet of a 'game'), League Of Legends, and Minecraft, the FBI, the CIA - and that's just the stuff we know. These guys even have a hotline where you can ask them to hack a specific target. And now, they (or he, or she - whatever) have put out a statement explaining why they do what they do. LulzSec boasted that taking down the site required just 0.4 percent of its DDoS capacity. Next in line were the login servers for the game EVE Online.
