Installer Java sur un NAS Synology DS210+ et équivalent avec processeur PowerPC SPE également connu sous le nom de « e500″/ »MPC8500″ et « e200″/ »MPC5xx ». Etant basé sur une distribution debian, vous pouvez utiliser toutes les commandes de gestion de paquet, apt-*. Vous pourrez ainsi en faire un serveur web avec jetty, tomcat, installez svn, git, un serveur dns, et que sais-je. Rien n’aurait été possible sans le travail de Sebastian Andrzej Siewior pour son portage vers PowerPC SPE et de ces posts sur http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2009/02/msg00128.html . Il m’a permis de bénéficier d’une distribution complète sur ce nas et d’en faire une plateforme de dev utilisable.

Transmission 2.50 was release on teh 14th of February. After long wait, sorry for that, the package repository has been updated and you shall be able to update you installation. The build was done on git hub commit 5ad60261f2 .

Synology « PC LOAD LETTER
In the Synology DSM go to Control Panel > Terminal > enable SSH . Read this Synology wiki document about modifying your NAS carefully and install the bootstrap for your model. If you have previously been messing around with your unit and want to set it back to defaults, you can run the bootstrap again. It will prompt you to delete a couple of folders and reboot, whereupon you can start afresh. Download the PuTTY SSH client if you’re using Windows – other operating systems will already allow you to SSH from the terminal. Give the session a name, set the remote character set to UTF-8 as shown and save it before you connect (to save time in future).

Config File Editor is a program that enables you to edit configuration files on your DiskStation without the need for learning command line VI or moving files from and to your DiskStation. When first started, it will copy existing configuration files as a backup. Therefore, if you messed up a configuration file, you can always hit the 'original' button to get the first backup back. It is also possible to edit the config file of this program itselves. By doing this, you are able to add your own text/configfiles to this program. Yup, still alive, but really busy with a lot of other non-syno related things. However, my mailbox is getting swamped by people who try to upload new versions of SABnzbd. I though that is strange, since the firmware didn't update or removed a lot my programs depended on.. Somehow the SABhelper program wasn't doing anything with the new firmware. Weird.
