An era of technology is upon us and now we take more pictures in one day then our parents took in 20 years. They had perhaps one picture album, maybe two, for their entire lives. Today, we take so many pictures in half a day, but they need sorting and this is were applications such as digiKam comes into play. According to the developers, digiKam is a KDE application which acts as a frontend to gphoto2, used for photo downloads from a digital camera. I dare say they are selling themselves short and that in fact this software is a lot more. Installation

Arch Compared To Other Distros - ArchWiki
This page attempts to draw a comparison between Arch Linux and other popular GNU/Linux distributions and UNIX-like operating systems. The summaries that follow are brief descriptions that may help a person decide if Arch Linux will suit their needs. Although reviews and descriptions can be useful, first-hand experience is invariably the best way to compare distributions.echo-nest-remix - Project Hosting on Google Code
The Echo Nest Remix API is the Internet Synthesizer that lets you make things with music and video. We've done the following: rearranged the syllables of a vocal line, walkenized and cowbellized hundreds of thousands of songs in a week , mixed up the hits of a drum beat and synced it to another loop, beat matched two songs , split apart DJ mixes by their individual tracks, made new kinds of video mashups , corrected sloppy drumming , synced a video to a song , transitioned between two covers of the same song, made a cat play piano , put a donk on it. We're making this available as an open source SDK for Python (other languages forthcoming!) that can be easily installed for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. It accesses the Echo Nest Analyze API at http://developer.echonest.com via the pyechonest wrapper and plays with the results to make new concoctions of audio and video.Conky = ag.fm – Development Discussion – Last.fm
Hello there, I've recently published a tiny shell script that echoes last five listened tracks of a chosen Last.fm user; you can get it from here -- there's also a screenshot available. The script can be used within the Conky system monitor on all Unix-based operating systems (but it was thought to be used on GNU/Linux, actually). It uses basic GNU/Linux applications: w3m, grep and sed, so there shouldn't be any problems to run it. The script was written almost a year ago, but I didn't know if it was to be useful, so I've used it for my own purposes only. Now it is the time I want to share it with you.BashStyle-NG is a graphical Tool for changing the Bash’s behaviour and look’n’feel. Aswell as Readline’s, Nano’s and Vim’s. UPDATE 2009-06-11: Not confirmed but the PPA structure has changed so I have updated the location of the repos. I have not tested to see if the packages are sane or not. Hopefully someone will be able to confirm. Bogdan (and another user) have confirmed that the PPA is back online and functional. Please use the updated PPA (instructions below have been updated). THANKS Bogdan!!!
