CoffeeScript. After months of hearing about CoffeeScript and having it on my to-do list week after week, I finally got around to really reading up on it during my flight from SFO to IAH.
I tweeted that I was in the middle of moving Picplum over to CoffeeScript and got no less than 10 people asking me why. CoffeeScript is much like Sass and Haml. It compiles into JavaScript, much like Sass becomes CSS and Haml becomes HTML. It's now included in Rails 3.1 if you're using the asset pipeline (we are), so there was nothing for me to setup.
