Most applications took advantage of an out-of-the-box Web Script implementation known as a declarative web script. To keep things simple, we can think of a declarative web script as a web script whose implementation has been split into a JavaScript file and a FreeMarker template file. It is implemented by a class called DeclarativeWebScript. For those with the source code at hand, you will see this file within the project called Web Script Framework. on Alfresco < 3.3.
