GAILE GUEVARA GAILE GUEVARA Where to start ... with my recent relocation to the gastown neighborhood, it is the community of creative individuals that have drawn me in and helped me find my new love for Vancouver. Immediately from street scape PROVIDE HOME caught my eye. A sophisticated white interior complimented with local fir paneling and a unique custom line of fir furniture. A modern interior that features unique home accessories from some of my favorites: beautiful modern pottery from Rina Menardi to hand blown glass light fixtures from Niche Modern, to glass candle holders from Laurence Brabant, Paris, or the glass collection from Anna Torfs or Lawrence. For those who appreciate the art of Pottery, each of the pieces produced by Rina Menardi are sculptural pieces, seeing them in context with modern furniture will give you a good sense of how they compliment modern interiors, even the family at Inform Interiors showcases them in their B&B Italia room settings.

Home Design Find - Interior Design, Architecture, Modern Furniture Former WWII Arsenal Transforms into a Cosy Mountain Retreat A Swiss arsenal from WWII is transformed by Ralph Germann architectes into a warm and comfortable mountain chalet. Keeping the historic nature of the building with the use of simple materials, like larch, slate, glass, and metal, a cosy mountain cabin retreat is created. The key to the design is an entirely glazed interior box – with full height sliding doors – within the original army building. The glass box makes it possible to entirely open the barn doors outside, while a glass box keeps the interior cosy, while preserving the historic building shell. The generous exterior barn doors - and the glass interior door – can be open when the mountain sun is available.

This laid-back wood-clad bungalow on Cape Town’s Bakoven beach oozes seaside style. The lucky owners are Cathy, Mike and their three children. A lover of bargain finds, the resourceful Cathy did the interiors herself. ‘A well-known interior designer once came up from the beach and had a look, and his advice has always stuck with me – he said that the painting was outside the window and that whatever happened inside shouldn’t compete with it,’ she recalls. the style files
Wednesday, August 14th, 2013 Tuesday, August 13th, 2013 New print release: This week marks the third print the Working Proof has released with artist Madame Lolina. It is pretty obvious that we think she is a unique talent with a flare for creating soft, meaningful works that lean into the world of fantasy and imagination. The print Crow Hat to benefit Kids In Need Foundation is no exception.

WebUrbanist | From Urban Art & 3D Graffiti to Abandoned Cities What would your city look like if it went completely dark? Words like majestic, awe-inspiring and magical come to mind - not as descriptions for the cities themselves, but how some of their most iconic architecture would look as black silhouettes against the bright starry skies of remote places. Artist Thierry Cohen gives us an idea of just who amazing these visuals would be in his series, 'Darkened Cities.' Click Here to Read the Rest of This Article

If you’re a mom-to-be like me, or a newish mom still shopping for baby gear, I hope this post is somewhat helpful to you! My blog friend, Lesley Myrick, who just had her baby boy a few days ago (congrats, Lesley!), asked me what my baby registry essentials are and shared a link to her blog where she documented all the stuff on her wish list for feeding, sleeping, baby care and travel. Inspired by her post, I thought I’d do the same. Just as Lesley disclosed on her blog, we too haven’t yet tested these things (our son will arrive in about 10 days!) decor8
