I do not have a baby on the way. Let's just make that VERY clear. I love my baby to pieces, but no more babies for Katie. I'm talking about my friend Rachel's new e-course "Baby on the Way". Before I dove in I was feeling a little intimidated by all of the sewing that I thought I would need to do, but the projects are ones that I feel I can tackle... which is saying a lot for me, because I am pretty good these days at the hand stitching, but I am no expert when it comes to the sewing machine. Anyway, I thought this course was so sweet that I wanted to share.

I hope your weekend is just wonderful, friends! P.S. P.P.S. Her Library Adventures.. A Beautiful Mess. I love using cloth napkins to dress up our dinner table, and through the years I've grown even more fond of their sustainability and cost effectiveness. Though, I'm not sure how cost effective it is if you keep buying more and more cloth napkins each year! This holiday season I thought it would be fun to look at how I could dress up the napkins I already own to give them an extra festive vibe. Check out three simple ways you can give new life to your table linens. And hey! Two of them are even no sew! Ribbon Trimmed Napkin This look is so (no sew) simple! Supplies:-ribbon-heat bond in width of ribbon-cloth napkin (buy mine here)-iron-fabric scissors (not shown above) Step One: Trim pieces of your ribbon to be about 1.5 inches longer than the width of your napkins.

Step Two: Fold down the edges of each ribbon segment about 1/4" and iron flat. Step Three: Iron the heat bond to the ribbon (pressing with hot iron for two seconds), then peel off the paper backing. The Pool Shirt is done. I used the fabulous Munki Munki Pool Party print--so adorable. The pattern was a bit more of a bear than I expected--particularly the collar. Originally, I had a plan to make one for Steve and Ezra too, but now I'm not so sure! Here's the shirt, almost done (click to enlarge), and a closeup of the cute fabric....I think I'm going to send the shirt off to Nana--the professional seamstress!

That was ten years ago, almost to the day. Well, all of that did happen. In ten years a lot of things in my life have changed. Ten years later....this blog, this space, and even some of you, are still here. Clever nettle - vintage & fashion in portland, oregon | A few misc film images that I like as a group. Organic shapes, petals, creatures, and some good colors. I – A double exposure of Sydney from a Yo Vintage shoot, maybe even two years ago, at the old Fieldwork Flowers HQ. II – Megan’s flower crown leading our way to Victoria, from our little roadtrip up there earlier this year for Crystal Visions. Rachel has been posting a few photos from last year’s party on her instagram, which you should follow. I don’t think I ever posted about the trip but it was so fun, driving the Olympic Peninsula with Megan for her first Canadian experience. Victoria was looking extra cute with all the cherry blossoms, Princess St., Floral Chapel, etc. Then, the wine and the ladies (I only came here for two reeeeasons).
