This definition was developed for my final thesis project to generate a louver system based on functional requirements within the building.
. a collection of codes & grammars for Grasshopper , a generative modeling tool for Rhinoceros. ASCII art generator This definition uses any image to create a AASCII art picture. ASCII art generator_090014.zip < package ( for GH v.0.9.0014) Recursive subdivision Recursively subdivide a surface in order to minimize panel curvature (tested by keeping the distance between the centroid of the subsurface and its projection on the subsurface itself below a given threshold).
Grasshooper component Attractor I Have my component, a rhomboid it has a offset and a fillet to it. I am goint to attach it to a surface, i would however like to add an attractor that affects the offset amount of the component relative to the attractors position, for example the suns path affect the componets offset openings allowing me to argue the benifits of an intelligent facade system. Similar to the image attached by Zaha HadidAny help would be greatly appreciated.
From Phylogenesis, FOA 2003 The following Grasshopper modules were created in consultation with FOA's Phylogenesis , in particular the taxonomy of forms found at the conclusion of the book. Grasshopper is an exciting and evolving modeling platform - the following examples attempt to develop a range of geometric examples to explore its form-making potentials. Andrew Payne, a GSAPP alum, has created a comprehensive primer on Grasshopper that can be found here .

Divide curve span ( by number or by distance) Finds dividing points of a curve by distance or number. Syntax:
Grasshopper: Parametric Truss This module covers the basic parametric properties of curves and most common methods for evaluating and dividing curves, while applying these concepts to build a parametric truss.
Notes on polygons and meshes Includes Surface (polygon) simplification, Clipping a polygonal facet with an arbitrary plane, Surface Relaxation and Smoothing of polygonal data, Mesh crumpling, splitting polygons, two sided facets, polygon types, tests for clockwise and concavity, clipping line to polygons, area of a 3D polygon, area of general polygons, determining inside/outside test, intersection of a line and a facet, Eulers numbers.
There is nothing particularly new about Evolutionary Solvers or Genetic Algorithms. The first references to this field of computation stem from the early 60's when Lawrence J. Fogel published the landmark paper "On the Organization of Intellect" which sparked the first endeavours into evolutionary computing.
Grasshopper: Parametric Curves This module covers the basic parametric properties of curves along with common grasshopper methods for evaluating and dividing curves. ARCH 598 Summer 2011 information >> n-formations FABRICS // LATTICES // FIELDS This course is designed to introduce and explore computational design, algorithmic thinking, and digital manufacturing–both: the larger ramifications that emerging digital technologies and ideas are having architectural theory via readings, discussions, presentations; and the practical application of these ideas and tools through a series of hands-on, iterative modeling and fabrication assignments. Ive worked all the day in this definition and I hope you like it. With this you can: -make ribs with notches -use the sliders to specify the x and y spacing of a rectangular grid or -use a custom grid (for this you just need 2 sets of lines) -specify the thickness of the material
