Tristan da Cunha is a group of extremely remote islands in the south Atlantic Ocean. It is “the most remote inhabited location in the world” and is home to 271 residents, who are in fact proud citizens of Great Britain. Tristan Da Cunha was created as a result of a break in the tectonic plates at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean where magma can flow up from the Earths core, known as the Tristan Hotspot, and is actually the tip of a giant undersea mountain formed by the cooling magma.
