I started reading George R.R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones in August of 2009, after my brother recommended the book to me earlier that year, praising it effusively. He had sped through the four existent novels (about 800-1,000 pages apiece) that make up the A Song of Ice and Fire series ( a fifth book is forthcoming ), and even got his girlfriend hooked too. Season 2 premieres to best ratings yet. Game of Thrones had a solid first season for HBO, steadily building an audience until it reached 3 million viewers with its season finale. The big question was, how many people would tune in for the second season? With plenty of critical praise, positive buzz, and record-setting DVD sales, many hoped that the show would improve on its freshman performance and secure a third season. Well, the ratings are in, and the forecast for A Storm of Swords looks good. Although HBO hasn't yet declared its future plans for Game of Thrones , an impressive 3.9 million viewers watched the premiere on Sunday.

I am so beyond excited for season 2. I love how many incredibly strong female characters there are in this series, and Dany is one of the strongest. That’s saying a lot. I love how a lot of the male characters show signs of inward misogyny with the way they treat the female characters (which seems appropriate for the setting), but the women are like “fuck that, I will travel the entire kingdom to bring my sons attempted murderer to justice” or “fuck that, I will kill anyone who gets in the way of my family ruling the seven kingdoms” or “fuck that, I will raise dragons to destroy my enemies and take back the throne” or “fuck that, you think I can’t fight because I am a girl?A HBO soltou esses dois vídeos, cada um deles com cerca de seis minutos e meio, o primeiro mostrando as novas faces da segunda temporada e o segundo mostrando as novas locações.
