DIY Custom Glass Canisters. Free Cabinet Door Storage Bin Plans. Hello, hello! This is Justin from Remodelaholic. Now that we’ve moved to a smaller home, that is lacking in the storage department, we have been searching far and wide for ways to hide all of our stuff. Every little space counts, right? So, when Cassity saw this cabinet door storage bin on Better Homes and Gardens she knew it was a great solution for our small home. She asked me if I could make this.

I love to make things and told her absolutely, put it on my honey do list…(that seems to only get longer, and longer… and longer!) I wanted to share with you today, the plans on one way somebody could build them. Justin. Brilliant Space-Saving DIY Canned Food Cabinet. DIY Under-Cabinet Drawers - Increase Kitchen Storage. You could build the drawers with nothing but hand tools and a circular saw, but a table saw and miter saw will give you faster, better results. A nail gun is another big time-saver, though you can hammer everything together with 1-1/4-in. finish nails instead.

All the materials are available at most home centers. In the hardware aisle, choose “full-extension” side-mount drawer slides (see Photo 3). That way, only 3 to 5 in. of the opened drawer will be covered by the overhanging cabinet front. Choose hardwood plywood like birch or oak for your drawers. DIY Under Cabinet Lazy Susan {Rotating Organizer Stand. Like many, I find the storage space I do have quickly fills up; no matter how much I seem to have, I always seem to never have enough. In an effort to maximize the storage space underneath my little guys bath vanity, I put together this simple lazy susan using just a couple purchased supplies and few items around the house. I love the fact that the double tier fills the open space in the tall base cabinets which is usually left unused. The finished project actually turned out cuter than expected and can be used for a multitude of purposes {such as a rotating dessert tray or condiment stand} I almost feel bad putting it underneath the sink.

Due to the fact that the stand was going to be placed inside a cabinet, I wanted it to easily rotate so the items in the back could be within a spin away. The feet were attached with Gorilla Glue Epoxy. For the actual stand I used two inexpensive wooden platters {purchased from the dollar store} and a metal candle stick. Enjoy! Kitchen Storage Projects That Create More Space. These simple racks will help transform those chaotic gangs of spice bottles and pan lids into orderly regiments. We show you how to build only the spice rack; the lid rack uses the same steps but without the shelves Each spice rack can hold 20 to 30 bottles, and each lid rack two to six lids, depending on the height and width of your cabinet doors. Before building, measure your spice bottles and lids to determine the spacing of your shelves and dowels. Here are other key measurements and clearances to keep an eye on: Existing shelf depth. If the existing cabinet shelves are full depth, narrow them by about 2 in. to accommodate each door-mounted rack.

Spice rack depth and positioning. We used soft, easy-to-nail pine and basswood for both the spice and the lid racks. Build Organized Lower Cabinet Rollouts for Increased Kitchen Storage. Overview 1 of 1 Get more storage space—without remodeling Lower cabinets offer the biggest storage spaces in most kitchens. But according to kitchen designers, the back half of this space is usually wasted—it's packed with long-forgotten junk or left unused because stored items are out of view and hard to reach. Rollout bins let you see and use the whole space. If you're tired of digging through cans and boxes to find a jar of tomato sauce hidden at the back of the cabinet, these rollout bins might be just the ticket.

You can size them to fit inside any lower cabinet and customize them to suit the items you want to store. This article will show you how to build them. Money, time and tools All the materials for these three rollouts were less than half the cost of three manufactured rollouts—a healthy savings. You don't need advanced cabinet building skills or tools to make your own rollouts—the joinery and assembly are simple. Sizing your rollouts Photo 1: Decide on sizes Choosing the materials. Under-The-Sink Organization Solutions. The area under the sink has to be one of the most challenging areas of the home to both utilize and organize. Fighting with the awkwardness of most sink cabinets, and the plumbing for the sink, finding a way to utilize all of the space can be difficult. But, I assure you, getting effective use out of the under-sink area is possible!

And, not only is it possible, but you will love the results! One of the absolute most important ways to maximize storage in this area is to utilize the vertical space. This can be accomplished by purchasing stackable, narrow shelving units that are specifically made for the narrow confines of the under-sink cabinet. If money is an issue then DIYing a solution might be key! My second favorite way to get the most out of the space is to utilize the space on the insides of the cabinet doors. I’m thinking about adding the shoe organizer option in our house, either in the linen closet or the guest bathroom. How To Build Kitchen Sink Storage Trays - Step by Step.

A place to store small nicknacks in and larger supplies on top We bought a neutral wooden CD rack at a cheap store (Xenos), painted it white on the inside and shiny black on the outside with some leftover paint (after sanding of course) and hung it on the wall of our kitchen. At first we put our little pots of seasonings, salt etc. in it but those are in a separate rack now. The CD rack now contains all kinds of nicknacks that have no other place in the kitchen. We used large screws to secure it to the wall. The pots and flasks of oil on top are quite heavy. The estimated time of this project is mainly sanding and painting. The stuff below the rack is standing on a normal shelve that we added later. 60+ DIY Kitchen Organization & Storage Ideas. As I mentioned in my DIY Spice Rack post, Ash and I are on a mission to use our love of wood and DIY to create solutions for our kitchens and our homes that help things run more smoothly and efficiently. My next project was to tackle my canned food collection! With a family of 7, we always keep a large variety of canned foods. What did I come up with?? Awwww… SO much better than how they used to be! I do think it’s cute, but I was going batty stacking my cans on an hourly basis! I made these canned food organizers in 2 sizes. Here we go! Supplies! For each organizer I used 1/4″ hardwood plywood.

I also used a 1×12 for my shelf pieces. I also use a 1/2″x2″ pine board for my bottom shelf front piece. When you break it down, these cost under $5 a piece to make. Cuts! For the sides you will need 2 pieces of 1/4″ plywood cut to this.. Mark each side like this… Easy! That’s it! How To Set Up A Pantry Closet. Now that it’s fall and that “nesting” feeling is starting to sink in, I thought I would show you how I created and organized my kitchen pantry.

You know that feeling – getting everything ready so that you are all comfy and cozy all winter long. It is kind of like a squirrel gathering as many nuts as he can and safely storing them so he doesn’t go hungry over the winter. He doesn’t have a pantry -just a safe hiding place for his stash. I have a pantry to do this, but I didn’t always. This is my mudroom – it is right off my kitchen and it is where my pantry is located. When we first moved into this house, the double doors you see in the photo used to be half this wide – it used to be a single door coat closet. The house we lived in previously had a walk-in pantry – it was an entire room. We made a coat and shoe wall with hooks and shelves out in the garage. The double doors allow you to see everything in one full swoop when you open them. 1. 2. Note: The “Various” shelf. 3. 4. 5.

81 Can FIFO - Bulk Can Dispenser / Organizer. INTRODUCTION It is always a good idea to have bulk food supplies available in case of an emergency. There are a couple challenges to keeping a well stocked emergency food supply. One challenge is how to minimize the space required to store the food supplies. Another challange is how to turn over your emergency food supply. Ideally you want to eat the oldest items and replace them with new items. Without a good strategy for turning over your food supply you could (and probably will) end up with a lot of expired food. Canned goods make good emergency food supplies. This is where the gravity fed can FIFO (First In First Out) helps.
