DIY Stella McCartney MVP Shorts

I am not exactly athletic and my basketball career ended at the age of 10 in tears on the phone with my parents while I was stuck at UConn basketball camp. Stella McCartney Spring 2012 sent some posh mesh options down the runway, combining the perforated texture with grecian appliques. The dresses from the collection have been worn by basically every single celebrity now and the look is really easy to recreate. Take a deep breath and then venture into your nearest sporting goods store for some mesh shorts. Add some appliques and it’s game time. Like this: Like Loading... Fringe shorts. DIY Splatter Pants. Splatter painted clothing can’t be called a trend – its been seen on runways regularly since the 80′s and its ubiquity now can be plainly attributed to the Proenza/J Brand collaboration of last year.

DIY Splatter Pants

For Spring 2011 Balmain offered a spin on the splatter with a line of ink-dripped and tie-dyed pants that give a similar effect. The problem with a lot of DIY splatter painting is the scale. To get the best results, you have to drip the paint from high above the item of clothing, and you need to vary the size of the splatters from large puddles to swarms of teeny drips. Try standing on a ladder to drip on your paint, and try dripping the paint out of a cup rather than flicking it on with a brush.

Once you have finished one side, allow it to dry thoroughly before flipping the pants over and repeating this on the other side. DIY Cutoffs with Closet Collage. Cut offs are a seasoned summer staple.

DIY Cutoffs with Closet Collage

Pair them with tanks, tees, sweaters or blazers and you may never have to take them off. J.Brand and Current/Elliot’s brightly hued cutoffs and Balmain’s hardwear heavy ones offer a little more personality in these timeless shorts and open the doors for further customization. Closet Collage is the beautiful blog of my friend Jessie. She crafts handmade collages of fashion shows and merges these with inspiration boards to create stunning pieces of art any fashion lover would kill to hang in their home. When Jessie wanted to make some cutoffs of her own, we decided to team up and tackle the challenge. DIY: Neon Polka Dot Denim by Calypso Letters Guest Bloggers « Element Eden Europe. The Little Giggler: Pink Skinny Jeans {a re-fashion} Are you loving pastel skinny jeans as much as I am?

The Little Giggler: Pink Skinny Jeans {a re-fashion}

I've been seeing them everywhere and I just had to have a pair! I had this pair of dark jeans that someone gave me. I love dark jeans too, but these were a freebie so I figured "what the heck". They had a little flare, so I started by taking in the legs with my serger. Then I bleached them. *UPDATE: I used a plastic rubbermaid tub. All jeans are not created equal. Can someone please tell me why thread doesn't take bleach?
