Our HandmadeMarketing.org team suggests looking into Etsy Mini for your shop, or your street team, if you tend to frequent blogs or other websites outside the Etsy sphere. So… how does Etsy Mini work? Sellers add photos of shop items to Etsy Mini and then paste (or link) the mini to websites (think your blog, EtsyLove.Ning.com, MySpace, etc.) The “mini” will also change with the shop inventory as your shop changes on Etsy.com – so no need to worry about retracing your steps to make sure potential buyers aren’t confused. Everyone wants to figure out ways to market their shop off Etsy, but let's face it shop owners are buyers too. I am a buyer.. I love to support handmade and the Etsy community. The best way to promote on Etsy is though the forums. Using the forums to promote will in turn bleed into the other features over time. On Etsy Promo Forum Talk: section by section quick forum tip:::::I do a quick scan of the first 5 threads.... Please don't spam the threads with your sales... it is very counterproductive to your business... Site Help I don't really post in this section as a original poster.. Business Topics This is a great resource section.... there is a ton of useful info to soak in. Critiques This can be a powerful section. Well, while i am not an expert in this matter, i DO have a few opinions and ideas on how to run a successful etsy shop... [side note: yes, my own shop is empty for now but it's for a very good reason... and it will be back up by spring] 1. show off your work.... flickr is a wonderful spot to display your work and let others see the goods you offer... while you cannot put prices on your stuff within flickr or have a link on your photo page to your shop , you CAN have that link in your profile... there are TONS of groups in flickr that you can join and this will help you get your goods seen by many others... groups range from specific crafts to illustrations to specific colors to general topics [including an etsy group] 2. but, what if you don't get much feedback or hits on your blog or flickr photos?!
