The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development has announced it will award nine competitive grants for regional business accelerators across the state, a program aimed at spurring innovation. The department is accepting applications for the $250,000 grants. Those interested should file a letter of intent with the department by 5 p.m. Sept. 6.

The Business & Entrepreneurship Center (BEC) Program is a network of Community College professionals working in strategic partnerships with businesses, industry and community organizations to identify and meet California's economic development needs in the areas of business improvements and entrepreneurship training. Specific attention is given to providing small business assistance and encouraging youth entrepreneurship. The BEC works with private, public and non-profit resources to build strong, sustainable and successful businesses. The end result is wealth creation, job creation and retention and better economic health in California. The Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC), formerly the National Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (NCEC), was founded in 1996. The intent of the organization is to provide a coordinated vehicle through which participating members can collaborate and communicate on the specific issues and challenges confronting university-based entrepreneurship centers. The GCEC current membership totals 200 university based entrepreneurship centers ranging in age from well established and nationally ranked to new and emerging centers. Each year a global conference is held on the campus of an GCEC member school.We are working on our own searchable database of centers. If you'd like to try it, click here . We will be moving the list below over to the database and updating it as the summer goes on. The list below offers a fast way to find a listing of entrepreneurship and related centers. Mission The mission of is to empower and increase the entrepreneurial capacities of socially and economically diverse women and men, and thereby strengthen our communities through the creation of sustainable new businesses, new jobs, and the promotion of financial self-sufficiency. History 1985 – Renaissance launched with Business Planning classes to help very low-to- moderate income women and men start and grow their own small businesses. The organization grew steadily and added Introduction to Business and Advanced Business classes. 1990 – Renaissance launched the first non-profit small business incubator in , housing five businesses.University Programs
