DIY Tutorial: Elastic Strappy Bra » Operation Overhaul. Here’s a really simple diy to convert your old/new bras into new elastic and fancy strappy ones! I find this especially useful for when the bands have stretched out and the bra no longer fits well. The tri-strap also looks great layered under loose tanks and low-back dresses! No more ugly bra straps peeking out! Materials you need for this tutorial:- Elastic (0.5″ Wide)An old bra with removable strapsScissorsSewing materials 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. I’m really glad at how this turned out and will definitely be wearing it with many of my tops! How To Make A Mermaid / Seashell Bra. Add Support to a Bandeau. Kludging goal: Add support and shape to a bikini topKludging skill level: BeginnerPermanence: Semi-permanentStarting materials: Bandeau top, old molded-cup bra, coordinating threadRequired tools: Scissors, sewing machine or needle and thread I've had this retro-style bikini for several years but haven't gotten much use out of it due to the unflattering way the top fits.

It tends to sag in the cups and ride up in the middle, due to the lack of reinforcement and the placement of the straps. It wasn't very flattering and had the potential for a wardrobe malfunction... I decided to move the straps and add additional support in the cups. I then traced the pad on the cup of a bra that had streched out in the band but still had usable, supportive molded cups. I repeated this on the other cup, and cut out the cups (above the underwire) on the traced lines. Note: If you need extra support and the bathing suit cups are big enough, you could keep the underwire with the bra cup when cutting it out.

✂ DIY: EASY Bow and Ribbon Bandeau! Bikini Facelift: Scalloped bottoms. | Goldfish Kiss. Scallops. They are great seared and slathered in butter, and even better when it’s the word to describe the trim on any article of clothing. Especially Bikinis. I’ve seen a few rather delectable scallops pop up in bikinis by Roxy, Marysia, Beach riot/Stone Cold Fox, and I am definitely on the band wagon. But before I fork over some dough, I figured let’s mimic this style on a pair of bottoms I love, but were too darn big. Tools: A fine ink pen, sharp & accurate scissors, a quarter, an old pair of bikini bottoms (that happens to have a lot of coverage…and if they happen to be a little bit tight, even better) and about 30 minutes. The how to: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Note: If you scallop all the edges, it makes the bottoms significantly looser since you are cutting at the elastic. ..if all else, fails, Roxy, Marysia and Beach Riot nailed it.

D I Y- VINTAGE HIGHWAIST. So Ive been wanting to show you guys these little vintage high waist bathers that I made for a while now. Basically I bought a vintage full piece suit and refashioned them into a high waist bikini bottom. I have others in the pipeline that aren't quite done yet because I want to refashion bikini tops to go with them! Ill show you those when I get there... haha. Anyway, Ive done a little tutorial for those that are interested in making some for themselves. Im a self taught sewer, so I basically guess how to do things. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't... but thats the way I like it.

Luckily for me, these worked out just fine : ). This is the full swim suit before I hacked into it :) Step One: Before cutting the suit in half horizontally try them on and mark the best spot. Step Two: Try the bottoms on. Step Three: Pin thick or thin black elastic all the way around the top edge of the bottom piece. Step 4 Sew the elastic with your sewing machine. Et viola :) Bikini Facelift: DIY Ruched Bikini Bottom | Goldfish Kiss. One of the easiest ways to take a simple bikini bottom and suddenly transform it from a borderline diaper to a flattering head turner is with a l’il touch o’ ruching. A little bit of scrunch between the cheeks, I don’t know why, but it highlights while hiding flaws and just enhances zee curves. I successfully scrunchified a few bikini bottoms of my own. All you need is: scissors, a sturdy needle, strong thread (the stronger the better, I actually used dental floss…insert butt floss reference here_____ it’s ok), and some bikini bottoms.

The results? Great success. How to make a ruched bikini bottom: The How-To video is here, or follow instructions below. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. pull the string taught, which will cause the fabric to scrunch together. 7. 8. 9. . © Goldfish Kiss. Sweetheart Ballet Tee Tutorial. Here’s yet another way to spice up your t-shirts when you get a little bored with the plainness of them all. I did this a few weeks ago to two of my plain tees. I’m threatening to do this on all of the t-shirts I own. Seriously. Watch out! This little ruching technique takes literally 2 minutes; the perfect way to jazz up an outfit on your way out the door. Here we go: Materials: Fitted Tee Sewing Machine Coordinating thread Elastic thread Scissors Magic Erase Fabric Pen (not pictured) Cut the collar off: only cut a little around the back & cut more around the front to make a deeper neckline.

Find the center of the front collar. HAND wind your bobbin with elastic thread. Turn your tee inside out and pull on the elastic thread until your shirt is as rouched as you’d like. Trim loose ends after securing the thread in place with a square knot. Dab the front of your shirt with water and a Q-tip to erase the magic marker line. FINI! How To: Shred a T-shirt. You know when you see something and it inspires you to want to do 25 other things with the idea? Yep, it was like that. Hop on over to see her Recycled T-Shirt Scarf and you'll know where I'm going with this. See, Joy and I have a similar problem. All our shirts grow holes near the bottom, in the tummy area.

Recycled Layered T-Shirt Supplies: 2 t-shirtspaperchalkscissorsneedlethread Begin with two t-shirts, I chose the outer shirt one size larger. Free hand a leafy sort of design (or hearts, or stars, or smiley faces...) on a sheet of computer paper. Lay your stencil onto the outer t-shirt and rub the chalk over the open spaces - Yes, I stole this sidewalk chalk from my poor children. See the design left behind? Cut out the design with your scissors (*tip: it's easier to do this by cutting a snip out of the center of the leaf first, then work your way out to the edges.) Clare Bare's Undwear Pattern.

How-to Make Hot Lingerie, Threadbanger. Valentine's Nightie How-to, Threadbanger Projects. Lined Paper Tee by Maybe Matilda. I’m pretty dang excited to be guest posting on U Create, of all places, with an easy and fun project for you. Just in time for heading back to school, I came up with this cute top: My name is Rachel, and I blog over Maybe Matilda. I’m from small-town New York, currently living in Utah with my soon-to-be-chiropractor husband and our soon-to-be-one-year-old son.

When I’m not sweeping up Cheerios, I love sewing and crocheting for my etsy shop, and sharing what I make on my blog. I think this lined paper tee is such a fun way to bring out the inner student, and possibly even encourage a little bookishness in a little one (maybe that’s a stretch, but a girl can hope, right?). It’s really simple to put together, and you can easily make it in any size. Here’s what you’ll need to make this tee: a white tank, tee, or onesie masking tape foam brush blue and red acrylic paint fabric painting medium (available at craft stores–you’ll find it with the paint supplies)

Attempts to crack the party code, pokébra tutorial :D I keep getting questions... Ink Blot T-shirt. Upcycled Sweater Boots. Clear Heart Full Eyes Can’t Lose. I took some major inspiration from a certain Luella dress and all things Valentine-y to come up with this top. It’s quite similar to those heart cut-out dresses that have been seen all over, but this is way easier to make than a dress! And a bit more wearable, too, seeing as how it’s just a shirt, and you can pair it and wear it with just about anything.

Oh, and there are pretty lace frills involved, too! What’s not to love? Stuff you’re gonna need (you can get most of this stuff at JoAnn or Michaels or your local craft-supply store): a well-fitting button-up shirt chalk lace trim (about half a yard or less should cover it) a hook-and-eye fastener sewing pins fray checkscissors measuring tape (I actually ended up not using this—but it’s always nice to have on hand) a small heart-shaped item to use as a pattern (this would be a good way to get some use out of an empty Valentine’s chocolate box) a sewing machine or just a needle and thread, whichever is your preferred sewing method 1. 2.
