De actievoerders vinden het raar dat automobilisten een roetfilter in de auto moeten hebben om de Duitse steden in te mogen en dat de binnenvaart de steden blijft vervuilen. Onder het motto ‘Volle Fahrt voraus? Aber nur mit Rußfilter!’ Toonden de actievoerders met een mobiel meetapparaat voor roetdeeltjes aan dat binnenschepen zonder filter tussen de vijftien en veertig keer de normale waarde voor de uitstoot van roetdeeltjes overschreden.
De actievoerders waren door de milieuorganisaties BUND, NABU, VCD en DUH tot actie opgeroepen.
