Buffy - Reboot

Joss Whedon Not Happy About Buffy The Vampire Slayer Movie Remake Best Movies Ever Reports - weloveeveryone's posterous

http://weloveeveryone.posterous.com/joss-whedon-not-happy-about-buffy-the-vampire Best Movies Ever loves it when a studio forget that a show like ' Buffy, The Vampire Slayer ' was all about a fanbase so they're idea of remaking this and disregarding that aspect shows the stupidity of Warner Bros Joss Whedon responded as only he could to the news that Warner Bros is moving forward on their ' Buffy, The Vampire Slayer ' movie remake without him or anyone from the original cult classic show. Best Movies Ever has always been a huge fan of Buffy and Angel so hearing this, just makes us shake our heads at studio stupidity. Here's what Whedon had to say to E! News.
Sarah Michelle Gellar is the 'Buffy' most fans prefer, but it looks like we're due for a brand new Slayer sometime soon courtesy of Warner Bros. The thing is, the first exposure we had to "Buffy" was the film released by 20th Century Fox, and although Joss Whedon was the screenwriter of that film, he was deeply unhappy with the fillm itself, and given the chance to refigure the property as a television show, he took a shot at it. The result remains one of my favorite TV shows.

The reboot announced !

Get ready Buffy fans, because your favorite vampire slayer is headed back to the big screen. Warner Bros. have announced that " Buffy The Vampire Slayer " will be returning to kick some ass in a franchise reboot. While die hard fans might be bummed to learn that Joss Whedon will not be involved, the studio has pinned their hopes on scribe Whit Anderson (pictured to the right) and believe her take on the character will be successful. Speaking with the LA Times , Charles Roven (who is producing the new film via his Atlas Entertainment shingle) said, “Generally, I wouldn’t have said ‘Let’s revive this,’ but Whit’s take is pretty compelling and a lot of fun, and it’s interesting to see all of this re-imagined. This is a completely new reboot. http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/warner_bros._preps_buffy_the_vampire_slayer_reboot_whit_anderson_write_film

Whit Anderson will write it

UPN/20th Century Fox; Courtesy of Fox Warning: If you're a Buffy fan, this will make you love Joss Whedon all the more. And will make the sting of today's news, even well, stingier. After Warner Bros. announced today that they are moving forward with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer "reboot"— without the involvement of the iconic mastermind behind the TV series, Joss Whedon—I checked in with Joss for his reaction, and here's what he just shared with me via email: Kristin, I'm glad you asked for my thoughts on the announcement of Buffy the cinema film. This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths—just because they can't think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself. http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b212644_Joss_Whedon_Reacts_to_Buffy_Movie_News_quotI_Have_Strong_Mixed_Emotionsquot.html

Let's get casting

Jerry Wolfe I know — it’s difficult to imagine another Buffy. In fact, you might feel as though you’d like to send the just-announced Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot back to the kitchen and have Joss Whedon cook you up something snarky and delicious instead. http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/11/22/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-reboot-cast/
