Nice to see you! Today I'm starting on the marathon explanation of my crochet square. I"m going to start with the basics, for new crocheters. I thought there might be some out there who would like to take up crochet, but aren't sure where to start. So this post covers a few basic stitches that will be needed when crocheting my square. You've got your yarn in your left hand. Take the yarn that you are holding in your right hand and bring it up and over as above.
Pick up your hook in your right hand, and poke it through the loop. Now pull that bit of yarn you hooked, through the loop, towards you. You've pulled it up, and now............... Holding on to the yarn in your right hand, pull at the yarn in your left hand. Pull the yarn untill the loop on the end of your crochet hook tightens into a knot, (but not too tight, you want it to be able to move along the hook). Now pinch your thumb and index fingers, on your left hand, round the yarn, just below the knot on the hook.

I was when I came up with the Birch Bark Basket! This easy crochet pattern is almost more of a technique and tutorial – you can crochet big baskets, small baskets, gift baskets… You get the idea! J'ai choisi 5 couleurs différentes d'alpaga Fonty (je vous les avais présenté ici). Cette laine est très douce et facile à crocheter je trouve, même si elle est moins douce que l'alpage Coproca. Par contre elle est plus grosse donc j'utilise un crochet 3,5. Mon étole a déjà ses p'tits défauts et je les laisse, ça fait parti du "Home Made" et puis j'ai pas de GM dans mon entourage donc personne ne fera quoi que soit hihihi. Je l’ai donc pris un peu comme un défit, et me suis finalement prise au jeu car il est très agréable à crocheter. Je sais que le process de fabrication des sacs façon Darel a largement été diffusé sur la toile, mais comme je n’ai pas trouvé exactement ce qui me convenait (surtout dans le traitement des poignées) et que les copines n’arrêtent pas de me demander comment faire, voici une fois pour toutes les explications, à ma façon (diagramme en pdf en fin de post) Pour ce sac, il faut un crochet n°9 et 400 mètres de fil. La laine mérinos ou les mélanges coton acrylique fonctionnent très bien.

Pochette au crochet. Depuis le temps que je voulais crocheter des sacs...
J'ai repéré une foule de modèles sympas, que je prévois d'adapter à ma manière (je suis presque incapable de suivre scrupuleusement un modèle, il faut toujours que je mette ma touche personnelle) Commençons modestement par une pochette crochetée d'une seule pièce et fermée par un bouton rouge. Je l'utilise comme organiseur de sac, pour y mettre l'essentiel : papiers, porte-monnaie, téléphone, clefs, mouchoirs.
