The Dark Knight Rises Set Visit, Part I. IGN was privileged to visit the Pittsburgh set of The Dark Knight Rises one relentlessly hot and humid day last summer. This is Part 1 of 2 of what we saw filmed that day, and of our chats with the cast and filmmakers behind Christopher Nolan's swan song to the Batman film franchise he rebooted and reinvigorated back in 2005.
Be advised that there are SOME SPOILERS ahead ... Going Rogue: Bane's Homefield Advantage The sequence we witnessed being filmed that sweltering August day at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field was the much talked-about destruction of the Gotham Rogues' football field during a game against the Rapid City Monuments. It's been a high point in the Dark Knight Rises trailers so far, and was achieved almost entirely practically with pyrotechnics and a raised, faux surface laid out over the real field to allow for explosions and pits for the "players" to fall into. The home team was played by a combination of stunt men and real-life Pittsburgh Steelers. "It’s a real good cast. Executive Producer Michael Uslan Spoils The End Of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Michael Uslan is the originator of the Batman movies. He has been an executive producer on all the modern Batman films. He is even an executive producer on the upcoming Dark Knight Rises from director Christopher Nolan.
As part of Film-Com, the very entertaining Michael Uslan spoke at great lengths about Batman, his experiences in the movie business, and his new book “The Boy Who Loved Batman.” Of course as expected, the topic of The Dark Knight Rises came up. Uslan had high praise for director Christopher Nolan calling him, “a genius, who deserves all the accolades, all the credit for Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and wait until you see coming up The Dark Knight Rises.” When asked about how The Dark Knight Rises ends, Uslan at first attempted to change the subject. However, after continued questioning from the moderator, Uslan relented and revealed exactly how The Dark Knight Rises is going to end. Did anyone expect this or something else entirely... RUMOR: A Major Character Will Meet His/Her End In TDKR. I have received word from a source working on the Pittsburgh set of The Dark Knight Rises that a major and well loved character from Nolan's movies will meet a violent end in the director's third and final movie.
Having checked into it a little more and seeing several other reports of this on various forums I figured it was worth posting as a rumor at least. So this may not be true, but obviously don't read any further if you don't want to know who might kick the bucket. Apparently Lucius Fox played by Morgan Freeman in all three Batman movies by Christopher Nolan meets his end in TDKR. Word is that he is murdered but by whom seems to be little more than guesswork, some saying Bane more feeling that it will be Marion Cotillard's character Miranda Tate(believed to be Talia Al Ghul).
My source didn't mention any of that, just that he is killed and he reckons it is a prelude to the Batman/Bane scrap on the steps we have seen so much footage of. What do you guys think?
