The refreshing onslaught of street art continues. Arriving on a wall near Grand street and Wooster in Manahattan’s Soho is Banksy’s latest work, a three-story high commisioned rat donning the iconic ‘I heart NY’ t-shirt. The piece was painted by professional sign painters Colossal, who must be fighting over the keeper rights to Banksy’s sketch for the piece. A new Banksy print, Stop and Search, was released today to the internet saavy. In the outstanding movie Children of Men there is a scene where in the Palace of Fine Arts there is a huge section of wall cut out and placed on display. On this section there is a Banksy piece “Kissing Coppers”. It turns out that this vision of the future was spot on as preserving Banksy pieces is becoming a norm. The Owner of a pub in England has followed suit and placed protective glass/plastic/plexiglass over the image of Kissing Coppers.
