I came up with this Arduino -based solution to mute my TV so that I don’t have to hear about Donald Trump’s feud with whomever or Charlie Sheen’s most recent rant. Using the Video Experimenter Shield , the Arduino is able to decode the closed captioning transcription track, which is transmitted along with the NTSC picture signal. The incoming text is processed for a set of keywords such as “KARDASHIAN” or “SNOOKI” and sends my television’s IR remote control mute command, muting the TV for 30 seconds and then unmuting it (as long as a keyword isn’t mentioned again).

Posted on December 2, 2010 It only seems right for me to begin this blog with the topic that inspired me to start it in the first place. Not too long ago, I came across Jamey Pittman’s “Pac-Man Dossier” , which is a ridiculously-detailed explanation of the mechanics of Pac-Man. I found it absolutely fascinating, so this site is my attempt to discover and aggregate similarly-detailed information about other games (albeit in much smaller chunks). However, as a bit of a tribute, I’m going to start with Pac-Man as well, specifically the ghost AI.
Threads you shouldn't revive are the ones that are in scripting help. In specific I mean if the post was from a year ago or longer, and you try to help with the problem stated in the original post. If the original poster himself revives the thread, then it is fine. However, if you are just trying to help the original poster 2 years after he had the problem, then it's pointless. This is not a scripting help thread, this is just a thread for useful funny batch scripts. Tori might have just saw the thread for the first time, so he's wondering if there is anything that can be done to improve it.
