http://www.thecoolist.com/green-sky-growers/ The Farm of the Future: Green Sky Growers The farm of the future is growing today in an unlikely place– on the roof of a retail building in a sleepy suburb near Orlando, Florida. Green Sky Growers is a true technical marvel, a state of the art farm which is one part laboratory and one part organic garden. It raises thousands of pounds of fish and vegetables every year using a mutually-beneficial farming technique called aquaponics .

Sea Cave Restaurant in Southern Italy Tucked away in a cavernous sea grotto in Southern Italy is one of the Grotta Palazzese Hotel’s fine cuisine restaurants. Open only during the summer months, this romantic and exclusive restaurant is illuminated by dim glowing lights and the glimmer of light reflecting off the waters of Polignano a Mare . Wood floors and simple furnishings balance well with the natural limestone texture of the cave. http://www.thecoolist.com/sea-cave-restaurant-in-southern-italy/

Wilkinson Residence In Portland Is One Swanky Treehouse - Green Diary

http://www.greendiary.com/wilkinson-residence-in-portland-is-one-swanky-treehouse.html Evoking the feeling of being in a tree house is exactly what the beautiful Wilkinson residence in Portland does. Located on a flag lot, the extraordinary house is brilliantly designed to perfectly blend with the natural landscape. A steep sloping grade provided the opportunity to bring the main level of the house into the tree canopy.

The Tangga House Singapore by Guz Architects

The Tangga House Singapore by Guz Architects Email 104 Email The tropical nature of Singapore is one that should be embraced in architecture, with structures that make outdoor living central to their experience. The Tangga House Singapore by Guz Architects executed brilliantly upon this philosophy, creating a large home with a tiered courtyard as its centerpiece.
I think one of the reasons that many are skeptical about environmental design is because they think its terribly complex and costly. It does take a bit more effort on the front end, but it's definitely not rocket science. This architecture by Guz Architects is a wonderfully developed minimalistic design with a curvilinear flare that really brings out the organic coverings. I'm most impressed with how design facilitates the needs of the plants and shrubs located throughout the house . http://architecturelinked.com/profiles/blogs/sky-garden-house

We have already reviewed the Fish House by Guz Architects , and now present another project of these talented designers. The houses have much in common and it is difficult to say which one is more beautiful. The Meera House is located on the island of Sentosa adjacent to Singapore and amazes with its magnificence. Looking from above, the house is like a green oasis, because roof and terraces are covered with grass and some trees. But this is not the only outstanding feature of this splendid design.

The Montecito Residence by Barton Myers Barton Myers Associates have completed a new architectural masterwork on the coastal hills of Santa Barbara county, California. The Montecito Residence was carefully designed for this breezy sea-side environment, where coastal winds are the perfect natural air conditioner. BMA designed the home to feature sliding glass walls and windows, allowing the local breezes to cool the home on warmer summer days. It is constructed with exposed steel, glass, concrete and metal paneling that makes for a home as open to its environment as possible. The home doesn’t end where the structure does, it is designed to stretch for as far as the eye can see. http://www.thecoolist.com/montecito-residence-by-bma/

The Montecito Residence by Barton Myers

Sunday mornings are one of my most favorite times. Perhaps the air seems cleaner, breeze blows cooler or coffee tastes better. No matter, Sunday mornings are an emotion for me and when I see a space that just screams zen, all I can think of is how perfect it would be to sit and read my Sunday paper and take in the surroundings. This TOTeMS designed guest house on the Sarasota Bay in Casey Key, Florida fits the bill perfectly. Because the house is built in a coastal flood zone, it required an elevated design.

Garden House by David Guerra

David Guerra is the Brazilian architect that redesigned the Garden House, a 1980′s house located in Brazil. This amazing house was constructed considering some important aspects like the interior/exterior integration which was planned to be bigger. This was possible using the garden day by day and it not only helped at the integration but also at the lighting of the rooms that used to be dark. To be suitable for the new owners the house was modernized adding new spaces that can be used in different ways. Besides this process the architects though to destroy walls, transform doors, windows and attatch protection covering, substitute products, recuperate structures, new eletric, new hydraulic, new illumination, an atelier, a wine cellar, gourmet kitchen, bathroom, sauna, deck and pool. The wood and the sand tones had almost disappeared excepting the gourmet kitchen, they were replaced with friendly tones so instead of cozy spaces the owners choose lighted spaces perfect for meetings.
