Individual programme outcomes can be accessed by clicking on the images below: 2011 – 2013 Practitioner-led action research (SUNCETT for LSIS) In 2011-2012 and 2012-13, LSIS supported a number of practitioner-led Exploratory Research Projects with the aim of improving practice in English, maths and ESOL. 2009 – 2013 LSIS Research Development Fellowships (SUNCETT for LSIS) The LSIS Research Development Fellowships (RDFs) supported practitioners to carry out action research projects and provided the education and training sector with small-scale, practice-based, research studies which can be used for improvement. 2006 – 2010 Practitioner- Research (Lancaster University for CELS/ LSIS) Vol 1, Vol 2, Vol 3, Vol 4, Vol 5, Vol 6, Vol 7, Vol 8, Vol 9, Vol 10, Vol 11, Vol 12.

LSIS supported practitioner research

Research by practitioners makes an important contribution with its focus on frontline delivery and practical application. Many organisations are currently supporting research by practitioners, LSIS and IfL amongst them. Information about current programmes is given in the links below. NRDC : Practitioner-Led Research Initiative. Through the ESF 'Skills for Work and Life' funding, NRDC was able to establish a nationally co-ordinated series of small-scale practitioner-led research projects from 2004 until 2006 in three rounds.

NRDC : Practitioner-Led Research Initiative

The aims of the programme were: build research capacity in the field embed the activities of the NRDC in practice undertake important small-scale research projects which contribute to NRDC's overall programmes strengthen research networks linking practitioners, researchers and policy agencies. The programme was aimed at groups of between 3-6 people who are directly involved in the delivery and development of adult literacy, numeracy and ESOL in any institutional setting anywhere across England . Collaborations between institutions were welcomed, these included links with HE Institutions. Over the 3 Rounds, 17 small-scale projects were funded , with each receiving up to £10,000 for each 9 month project, with each year will address a different priority topic.
