While you can pick these up in a shiny black version, we went straight for the wildest color scheme we could find, the specs the same no matter which colorway you decide on. These phones hold the special distinction of having Propriety Mylar Drivers approved by none other than Mix Master Mike himself. For those of you that do not know, Mix Master Mike is one of the most notoriously fantastic DJs on the planet, emerging on a global scale when joining the Beastie Boys as their resident spin master on such gems as Hello Nasty and their newest album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two. These headphones are light, have a 20-20K Hz frequency response, and can flip out and forward so you can jam with them as off-ear speakers as well.
Cool Gadget at CES: AfterShokz Headphones. When I got an email about “ear-free headphones that transport sound through your cheekbones”, I was instantly intrigued, and I said I’ll check their booth out at CES. I’m glad I did, because they’re quite cool! AfterShokz Sport headphones enable joggers, bike riders, skiers, skateboarders, hikers and other athletes to safely use their portable music players while staying connected to their surroundings. Since AfterShokz headphones rest outside the ear, users are able to also hear ambient noises such as oncoming traffic, car horns, ambulances or other warning noises, potentially preventing accidents. Headphones that cover the ear and earbuds that nest inside the ear significantly restrict a user’s ability to hear these important sounds. Headphones typically try to cancel noise, but AfterShokz is designed to allow you to hear noise around you. There are a few disadvantages to AfterShokz. Also, the visual design is definitely hit or miss.

It looks like Ferrari wants to get in on the headphone action and has collaborated with Logic3, to unveil its new Ferrari inspired audio equipment at this year’s CES 2012. The Ferrari by Logic3 collection includes a range of earphones, headphones and speaker docks that celebrate Ferrari’s love of the road and sleek design flair. So now if you can’t afford the car, hopefully you can at least afford the audio equipment with the Ferrari name on it. The Ferrari by Logic3 range is comprised of two styles: First there is the Ferrari Cavallino Collection, influenced by Ferrari’s GT road cars will feature the iconic ‘Cavallino Rampante’ (Prancing Horse) marque. Then there is the Scuderia Ferrari Collection which is inspired by the competition of the Ferrari F1 team.
