Artwork Feature #5: Alexander Otto - Solstice. This is part of our new series of posts. Here we feature a selected piece of art and have a little chat with the designer who made it. They give us a bit of background information and details about how the work was conceptualized and created. This week's pick is from german graphic designer Alexander Otto, better known under his moniker "Diftnorm". Mr. Otto sat down exclusively for Abduzeedo and wrote about the background of the image exclusively. Enjoy. About Solstice This issue was curated by KDU partner, Josh Vanover, KDU Core member, Victor Antonio and KDU Founder, David Gensler. Alexander Otto about his "Solstice": After I've gotten the briefing from Josh Vanover and Victor Antonio my mind was blown away. I've put together some images to visualise the process of the illustration.

I than concentrated more on the foreground, I was sure I would need something that matches more the concept and the composition itselfs. Visit his website at Details. Daily Inspiration #765. Interview with Photographer Nikolas Konstantin. Nikolas Konstantin is one of my favourite photographers. His ability to capture emotions, to show people in the moments when they are most real makes him a photojournalist with a rare sensitivity.

When I ask him on his working process he reveals "I see the world as a silent movie and make screenshots of the most beautiful scenes. " Nikolas is not only a photographer, but also the founder of IDEAS Magazine, a recently awarded inspirational platform on the web. He took some minutes to talk with us about the power of photography, his projects and how we all can discover our visual intelligence.

Nikolas Konstantin Thank you for taking the time to speak with us. The pleasure is mine. 1. Have you ever heard the sentence, "Reality is stranger than fiction"? What followed then can best be explained with a dialogue of my favorite scene in the Matrix where Neo asks Morpheus, "why do my eyes hurt? " Beginning My first project was very personal. 2. 3. 4. When I opened few weeks back a National Geographic, I found an amazing shot of this animal. Because of its appearance and what I read about it next, I decided to make my own “water bear”Water Bear - aka “Tardigrade” - is an amazing micro-animal. One of the real superhero on earth.According to Wikipedia, “Tardigrades can withstand temperatures from just above absolute zero to well above the boiling point of water, pressures about six times greater than those found in the deepest ocean trenches, ionizing radiation at doses hundreds of times higher than the lethal dose for a human, and the vacuum of outer space.

They can go without food or water for more than 10 years, drying out to the point where they are 3% or less water, only to rehydrate, forage, and reproduce”.Softs : Cinema 4D, Vray, Zbrush, Photoshop. By marcos333 Wed, 01/19/2011 - 05:37 Nowadays, it seems that videogames and movies are becoming more and more similar in some aspects. Movies are getting more interactive, with all these 3D effects and other inventions that were done lately. And videogames are getting more and more theatrical, with better stories, better graphics and outstanding trailers. Being a huge video games addict, I though a post about game trailers would be an awesome idea, so I collected some recent (and not so recent) game trailers that just blew my head off, I hope you guys agree with this collection and comment what you think is the best game trailer.
