Présentation des Ports français Organisation La loi de décentralisation de 2004 et la loi du 4 juillet 2008 portant réforme portuaire ont modifié de manière importante l'organisation des ports maritimes français. Les ports de commerce les plus importants ou desservant les départements d'outre-mer sont sous la responsabilité de l'Etat : en métropole, ils ont le statut de "Grand Port Maritime" qui s'est substitué en octobre 2008 à celui de Port Autonome qui ne concerne plus que la Guadeloupe; en Martinique, Guyane et à la Réunion, leur gestion est concédée par l'Etat aux Chambres de Commerce et d'Industrie.
