From its start in 1997, European Schoolnet has been involved and actively supported the open educational resources (OER) movement in Europe. European Schoolnet is one of the main players in Europe and beyond in learning resource exchange; in collaboration with its network of schools and teachers, European Schoolnet has also contributed to the development, testing and validation of new resources. Find educational content from many different countries and providers: Search among 248,000+ open educational resources referenced in the Learning Resource Exchange catalogue, from 58 content providers (including Ministries of Education) in 29 languages: Since 2002, to make digital learning content interoperable and easily discoverable, European Schoolnet and its partners have particularly developed, tested, and deployed brokerage system architectures and services in the course of several EU funded projects (ASPECT, CELEBRATE,CALIBRATE, MELT, eQNet.).

(2 Mb) - 11/06/2014 The Report provides a synopsis of the first ever DG Research and Innovation citizen consultation process to gather ideas on how to advance urban waste research in Europe. This initiative, launched by the Science with and for Society Unit of DG RTD, was implemented by the ECSITE network of science centres and museums, from January 2013 through to June 2014. The outcome of the initiative led to the definition of 5 waste-related topics under the Horizon2020 2014-2015 calls for proposals of Societal Challenge 5 - Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials - for an expected EC financial contribution of approximately 116 Million EUR.
