Vinyl Tube Bracelet. I love kids' crafts turned chic. The story behind this one is pretty simple: when I was in elementary school, I used to go to extracurricular weekend classes held by a nearby district. I took one or two sports "courses" throughout the years I attended, but I remember the art classes the most. To me, it was like a weekly treat of making fun things. I clearly remember one project - vinyl tube bracelets with glitter and water. About a month ago, I was browsing the plumbing section at the hardware store. Of course, I had to take a stab at making a grown up version of that bracelet. If glitter isn't your thing, you can substitute beads or rhinestones instead. . - 3/8" PVC clear vinyl tubing - Painter's tape (I used Frog Tape) or duct tape. . - Anything fun and sparkly Glitter (fine, chunky, shaped, a mix of everything?) - Small funnel for glitter(I used a metal funnel that came with a perfume refill, and had another plastic funnel from a Sephora travel set of plastic bottles and what not.

Scissors!

:) Darcy Ripley. Giant Paper Rose Flower. If you loved the beautiful DIY wedding this morning and Nata’s gorgeous paper flower bouquets, you are in luck as Nata is sharing how she crafted them with us!

She was inspired by a template created by Morgan Levine on Martha Stewart (as was I in the flowers I created for this styled shoot). I just love that this basic idea has inspired different brides to create their own version of giant paper flowers – you might remember these equally awesome giant paper flowers from this wedding I shared last year. :) Thanks so much Nata for sharing how you created your giant pink paper rose + special thanks to Studio Castillero for the photos of the DIY + her wedding! Materials (to make one giant rose) Step 1: Cut the petals Cut 5-6 teardrop petals and 15-6 heart-shaped petals from the petal colored crepe paper. IMPORTANT: Crepe paper is directional so it matters which way you’re cutting the paper. Make sure the grain is vertical when you’re cutting the flower pieces.

Step 2: Cut the leaves + calyx. Print That Tee, Kick Ass T-Shirt Designs. Daily Inspiration #739. The Coolest Clock Ever Video. Piroska baltával: a Grimm testvérek serfőzdéje - Design Pumpa.

So when I was a kid I was addicted to making things out of sculpty clay. Recently I was at a friends house and she had handmade mushrooms and instantly I was reminded of all the clay bunnies and such that I had made as a kid and thought I could make those with the same clay. So I bought some for like a buck and made some mushrooms. It is really nice because the clay fires for 15 min in the oven and the mushroom maybe took 10 min to sculpt. I defiantly love a quick craft, it makes you feel so accomplished. Anyway here is a terrarium I made with moss from my back yard and a strawberry plant.

DIY Vertical Terrarium Mini Garden Wedding Favors. We’re approaching the end of our DIY wedding favor series, but I guarantee you will love our last picks as much as the first ones. These vertical terrarium wedding favors make great gifts because they don’t take any room, and are extremely easy to maintain. Who wouldn’t want to bring a little bit of the outdoors to their home or office?

– Gravel (can be found at any pet store in the aquarium section) – Air plants, cactus or succulents (you will need a small amount of potting soil if not using air plants) – Moss – spray paint – magnetic metal tins (from here or here, you just need to slap magnetic tape on the back!) – Dremel tool – painter’s tape – E6000 glue Cover your tins with painter’s tape before you begin spray painting the inside of them.

Place acrylic tops back in the metal frame of the caps and glue both pieces. Once your tins are dry from spray paint, remove tape and wash tins with water and soap. Magnets with Clay. New Ring Designs. November 24th, 2010 A while ago I bought lots of antique silver spoon sets when we visited Colin’s sister Morag and her family over the summer as they live near Spoon Central – a little village called Horncastle that is full to the brim with small antique shops. As I’ve been without my camera for what seems like months, I’ve not been able to photograph any of my ‘work in progress’ for a while.

I have been busy, just not really been able to blog about it. Well my camera arrived back from the lab all shiny and new the other day and so today I spent some time taking images of the new rings I’ve made from the spoons I bought over the summer. So here are a few shots of my new rings – in spoon format and then transformed into things of beauty for someone special… This is a shot of all the spoons prior to sanding, filing and polishing. I’ve removed the bowls and rounded and smoothed the ends. Before and after shots of set 1 Before and after shots of set 2 I love the flower design of this spoon. Shape Book Tute « Cheeky Magpie. I’ve had an overwhelming response to this project and everyone wants a tutorial, so here you go. First off, gather your supplies: - book for dismembering, paperbacks are great - template (I made half an apple out of a thick piece of chipboard) - exacto knife with a very sharp blade - clips - glue stick - snot dots - ink or paint for coloring and something to apply it with - decoration or embellishments Step 1 My paperback book was too thick so I split it in half using my blade.

Step 2 Lay the template down on the book and cut the pages around the template. Step 3 Remove the cut paper leaving the template in place. Step 4 Once the book is cut, trim any rough edges you don’t want. Step 5 For color, I used ink refill and diluted it a bit because I wanted it to soak in to the paper. Step 6 Once the edges were done, I applied the ink/water mixture to the inside of the pages by using a “flip and wipe” method.

Step 7 Once the book is dry you will need to stretch the spine so it opens. Step 8 Step 9 Step 10. How to Make Clothing Buttons from Shrink Plastic&8230; | scissors.paper.wok - StumbleUpon. This tutorial is an old one of mine that’s too good not to share again. Since posting the first time, I’ve had lots of questions about these buttons which will hopefully be answered in this revised post. Equipment Some handy notes: 1. The buttons. Single hole, hole punch (like this one here). 2. 3. Okay.. lets get started! Tracing tips: You can use either coloured pencils or permanent pens. Words must be writted backwards in order to be readable. Shrinking the buttons: To shrink the buttons, you can use an oven or a heat gun (the kind used for embellishing).

After the buttons have twisted and twirled, and are LYING FLAT, it’s time to take them out. Note: If the skrinking is taking too long, you may need to turn your oven up. Here’s a short little stop-motion to make sure you’ve got the gist of how easy this is! Here is how I made my Christmas tree ornament mobile, it was easier than it looks, promise.

The Supplies a 17″ steamer rack from a restaurant supply storeabout 5 feet of lightweight jack chaina small carabiner100 basic ornament hooksone roll, 500 feet, monofilament jewelry string (not the stretchy sort)200 jewelry crimp beads or tubesjewelry crimping tool100 lanyard hooks100 ornaments Note: In the photo above I show earring wire instead of ornament hooks. I changed that later as I found ornament hooks made it far easier to move ornaments around after they’d been hung. Creating the Mobile Frame Creating the frame for my ornament tree mobile turned out to be fairly simple.

For the top of the mobile I needed something that would allow me to easily secure a lot of hanging points without them sliding around too much. Turn the rack upside down and the spots where the legs were secured neatly become four hanging points. I bought some inexpensive jack chain to use for hanging. Clouds on the ceiling in Crafts for decorating and home decor, parties and... - StumbleUpon. 12 Gorgeous Gourds: Tropical Lamps Swirl Light & Shadow. Art circles craft all around these exquisitely carved, drilled and etched gourd shells shipped from Senegal.

The elaborate patterns are not just for show, though – they are made to cast spectacular light displaces on interior ceilings, walls and floors. Designed and executed by Calabarte, some small etchings are intentionally superficial, remaining opaque or translucent, while others are cut deep for full transparency. Each is naturally unique, but so are the shapes scooped out of it by hand (after each shell is hand-selected, emptied and dried). Some feature abstract patterns while others form more literal representations (a globe, for example) – many are fractal-like, creating a sort of secondary-but-still-natural layer of visual interest across the surface and in terms of projected light.
