Strawberry Reusable Grocery Bag

I did so much shopping that I didn’t have enough grocery bag to use. Luckily my friend borrowed her strawberry grocery bag to me when I needed it the most. It is so cute and the folding to keep the grocery bag into a tiny cute little strawberry drawstring bag really amazed me. My daughter liked it so much…. cut the story short **fast forward**, the bag ended up come home with us. Tutorial: Paisley Necktie Schoolbag. In fact, quite a few things have happened around here lately. Between that last post and now I've gotten my own sewing machine(!) , I've been trying to get serious about my Etsy shop, and I'm also starting to plan a trip to Canada for early July to visit my family and friends back home. So many things to be happy about :) SewDad: Kids large draw string backpack. Cross-Body Backpack.

Big, small, bright, dark, simple, complex, straps, no straps. But I almost never have the exact bag I need or want for any given occasion. What I Made Today: TUTORIAL: Monster Backpack

This monster backpack will keep any fiend away from your crayons and coloring books. Lincoln needed a new backpack for his birthday, and as luck would have it, MADE featured a fantastic boy-themed etsy roundup, including a Monsterpak from this fun etsy shop. Inspiration was born! For this project, grab your stash of scrap fabric... and a backpack with a fairly plain front. If you're adding horns to your monster, you'll also need batting/stuffing. Remove any labels. Now you're ready to embellish your monster's face however you wish. I started with teeth.

Be sure to steer clear of the zipper. Stitch in place. Reversible, Reusable, Ruffled Grocery Bags - Sawdust & Paper Scraps. I always try to remember to take reusable grocery bags to the grocery store.

Because I like to do my part, however small, to take care of this lovely Earth! Also, because my bags are cuter than the ones the Grocery store sells for $1.99 each. Do stuff! & Ten minute no-sew recycled t-shirt bag! Tutorial time!

do stuff! & Ten minute no-sew recycled t-shirt bag!

I got a gig teaching a recycled t-shirt project at the library a few months ago, with a request for a recycled tee bag – the only bags I’d made from tees in the past had required sturdy sewing, and I didn’t want hand-sewing to be the only thing holding the bottom closed in a class version of the bags, so I started brainstorming about some kind of hand-sewing-friendly or no-sew bag idea…. and here’s what I came up with! The simplest version of these bags is great for smaller tees, or the more light-weight kind of girl-tees – just turn the bottom of the shirt into a drawstring and tie it closed! As you can see, even with a not huge tee, this will still leave a significant hole in the bottom of your bag, but for purposes like grocery shopping, this size hole shouldn’t really matter… But to make smaller holes, just make more than one of them!

Travel Accessories: Plenty of Pockets Tote. When you're on the road, doesn't it always seems to be the ordinary, everyday things you are suddenly in desperate need of: gum, nail clippers, your headphones?

Travel Accessories: Plenty of Pockets Tote

I get a little panicky, certain I've left behind the most obvious items... as if perhaps I'm on an arctic expedition and won't see civilization for weeks. But the opportunity for replenishment doesn't matter; I want my stuff close at hand. That's the theory behind our handsome travel tote: plenty o' pockets to stash all your stuff. There are four big outside pockets that wrap front and back plus a deep inside compartment (exactly deep enough for a magazine, I might add!) With its own generous interior pocket. We offer a full set of pattern downloads below for the tote body as well as all the pockets. We recommend using a twin needle to do the decorative stitching on this project. The finished size of the tote is approximately 12½" tall x 11½" wide with 2" deep sides and base.
