How to Create a Movement the Movember Way. Since launching in 2004, Movember has grown into one of the world's largest men's health charities, raising more than $100 million during last year's moustache-fueled campaign. Along the way, the organization has continuously expanded its digital initiatives, launching mobile apps, viral videos, and partnering with major celebrities and brands to grow awareness for its annual month-long prostate cancer awareness drive.

We had a chance to catch up with Movember Co-Founder & CEO Adam Garone and Digital Strategist Kory Klem at SXSW. The duo shared with us some of the organization's secrets to success and offered advice to other groups looking to harness digital to raise more funding and awareness for their cause. Check out the video above to see the interview, and be sure to visit Mashable's Movember page, where we proudly raised $1,681 during the last campaign. Former Facebook PR Head Shares Strategy for Successful Launches. Startup SendHub Lets You Send Mass SMS to Students, Clients. "Email is an overburdened communication channel," says Ash Rust, cofounder of startup SendHub. SendHub solves the problem of sending mass messages to people and ensuring those messages are read. Currently, SMS on cellphones can be restricting — limiting the number of contacts you can reach with one message, Rust says. With SendHub, users can disseminate messages to up to 5,000 people at a time.

Sure, you can reach thousands via email, but SMS are much more likely to be read. According to a Juniper research report last year, 97% of text messages are read, with 90% read in the first 4 to 6 minutes — much higher compared to email read rates. SendHub has a text-to-join system. SendHub monitors feedback to ensure users don't spam people through the service.

The other cofounders are Garrett Johnson and John Fallone. The trio was able to fine-tune their idea at startup incubator Y Combinator located in Mountain View, Calif. Want to know how to figure out what startups really matter? Delete everything from your phone. I’m being serious: just delete it. I’m assuming most readers will instantly think “uh, you’ve got to be kidding me”. That’s a rational thought, however I was forced to delete my phone this weekend when upgrading the iOS version on my iPhone, losing close to 1,000 photos and all of my apps. For you, I suggest you back up your photos and then do it: delete everything.

While Apple has tracked which apps I have, I actually felt a sense of relief: I no longer had all this clutter on my phone. For app addicts like me, we periodically browse through the app store when we’re bored in an attempt to find out useful ways to waste time. Only the most obsessive people take the time to clean up their apps (I’m looking at you Dann Petty). You instantly get down to basics and download the apps that matter most to you.
