Oh No They Didn't! - My Little Pony gets a Hollywood makeover

The much-loved children's toy, My Little Pony, has undergone an extraordinary transformation. The new collection sees the ponies mimic a variety of characters from cult films like Batman and Alien. The creator Mari Kasurinen, who admits she preferred Star Wars dolls to My Little Pony as a child, has been inundated with orders for the quirky toys, which are on sale for a whopping £330 each

Your Childhood in 94 Seconds (VID) | Top Cultured

Did you grow up in the late 90s? If so this video will certainly ring true for you. I know it had a good amount of my favorite things growing up. The best of which were pogs, The Secret World of Alex Mack (I had/have the biggest crush on Larisa Oleynik) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. http://topcultured.com/your-childhood-in-94-seconds/

Captain Jack Sparrow to the rescue as Johnny Depp arrives at Greenwich school | News

And it took just one letter to enlist the aid of the world's most famous pirate: Captain Jack Sparrow. With only 10 minutes warning, Johnny Depp arrived at Meridian primary school, Greenwich, in full high-seas regalia with four other cast members. Beatrice sent her appeal when she found out he was filming the latest instalment of Pirates Of The Caribbean at the Old Royal Naval College nearby. The letter said: "Captain Jack Sparrow, at Meridian primary school we are a bunch of budding young pirates. Normally we're a right handful but we're having trouble mutinying against the teachers.
http://news.cnet.com/8301-31021_3-20018534-260.html CHIBA, Japan--Ceatec doesn't officially start until tomorrow, but Toshiba is already getting the lion's share of the buzz here on the show floor, with its Glasses-less 3D TV . The device was announced last night , and people flocked to the demonstration in a dark makeshift theater today, where the wait was nearly an hour early this morning. The reason? Because finally, mercifully, a TV maker has come up with a way to watch 3D at home without those ridiculous plastic glasses. There were three sizes on display: 12 inches, 20 inches, and 56 inches.

20th August 2010 – I love cakes and today I treated myself and my colleagues to a nice box selection of pastries and cup cakes from my local cupcakery. I was drawn to them on the way to work through the bakery window that tempts me every time I walk past because they look so sweet and delicious. While I was in there I noticed an amazingly designed wedding cake which was truly a baked piece of art and now I seemed to have grown quite a fondness for fondant design! Cakes and cupcakes seem to be more popular than ever at the moment and with some very talented bakers out there, there is always some brightly coloured sponge masterpiece on display in a shop window. It seems a shame to have to eat them after all the effort that was put into them. http://www.webdesignmash.com/2010/08/let-them-eat-cake-gorgeously-designed-cakes/

Artist Ray Villafane carves pumpkin portraits in just two hours | Mail Online

It takes several months to grow the fruit but amazingly just two hours for artist Ray Villafane to sculpt these petrifyingly detailed portraits out of pumpkin. The American model designer and former art teacher uses spoons and a scalpel to carve the innocent orange gourds into Halloween horrors in double quick time. 'Sometimes I pick up a beautifully shaped pumpkin but when I do I realise that it is not heavy enough. Its wall is just not thick enough for the carving rigours. 'I also like a pumpkin with character. One with nobly ridges is good, so that I can utilise that in the carving procedure, like with sculpting noses.'
