I believe Anna in particular had the residents of Texas in mind. However, choosing the colours differently, it may also do very well for EU citizens – or anybody else fond of five pointed stars. Layer the pieces forming the heart’s two parts. Weave in the same way as explained for Heart #042, just mind all the little tips and bows tending to get entangled. I have included 5 different pieces, which you may mix to get the heart you like best. When you weave the piece from Page 1 (red) with the pieces from Page 2 (blue) +Page 5 (white), you get a heart like the Texas heart. Using also Page 4 adds a smaller star inside the larger. If you want the colour of the larger stars to feature at the stars only, then you must use the piece on Page 3. You get a more robust handle if you glue together two handle strips, possibly of different colours.

If you are guessing what type of bird is this, it’s called Padda oryzivora (Java sparrow, Ricebird, Reisfink, Padda de Java, or Buncho). Well, it’s just that different places has their own name, although it’s the same bird after all. It looks cute isn’t it? And it comes with variety of colors. The patterns and designs look similar but it comes in extra colors variation for each type – Normal (Wild type), Sakura (Pied), Silver (Opal), Fawn (Isabel, Cinnamon), White, etc.

They are lifesize, and very realistic in colour and detail. Each bird takes about two weeks to design, assemble and paint. The paintwork is done with very fine brushes, in numerous thin layers using aquarel paint with gouache paint on top, whereby every detail and nuance in colouration in the featherpattern is shown. .I put the bird on a small mount to make the tail come out better. Nel progettare questo modello ho pensato ai bambini, quindi a qualcosa di semplice da piegare e nello stesso tempo versatile.
Inizialmente, ho realizzato queste due composizioni, e per questo l’ho chiamato Bialbero di Natale. Poi mi sono reso conto che i moduli possono essere assemblati alternando dimensioni diverse e anche colori diversi, avrei dovuto chiamarlo Multialbero di Natale. Sono molto contento di questo modello, che unisce semplicità, armonia, e versatilità, è come un gioco che può essere smontato e rimontato in modo personale. Ciascuna composizione è ottenuta da 6 ottagoni di carta per fotocopie, ricavati da sei quadrati coi lati di 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 e 21 cm, dall'alto verso il basso.
