{Amigurumi - Pedro the Bear} Last week was quite a hectic one! Despite the chaotic schedule I managed to find time and go buy some new yarn, which included a brown eyelash one! Once I came home with my yarn bag I was so excited that I started crocheting a bear using my new eyelash yarn! So, I proudly present you Pedro the bear! To make Pedro follow my Teddy Bear pattern found here! A tip when crocheting with eyelash yarn. Normally amigurumi are made using small hooks, in order for you to crochet using the eyelash yarn I recommend using a larger hook like 3.5 mm for the head and body and a smaller for the other body parts. The muzzle. R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook. (6) R2-3: sc around (6) Embroider nose and mouth. Alternatively cut a round piece of white felt and embroider the nose and mouth using black embroidery yarn. The shawl. Cut a piece of felt and sew a button at the closing point.

I have to admit that I never gave origami enough credit, but these days I (Chanel) can’t get enough of the Japanese paper folding art. The geometric detail that goes into every fold, the amazing patterns and colors of the paper, the satisfaction that comes with perfecting a certain shape… folks, it’s addicting. And for this wedding shoot we recently styled for The Everygirl’s Wedding Week, ombré origami garlands added the perfect touch of color and whimsy to an inspirational outdoor table.

The garlands are now hanging against a white wall in our workspace, so I would certainly recommend giving this project a try if you’re looking for an eye catching indoor installation for your home. Keep reading for the full instructions, and be sure to stay tuned for more paper masterpieces. Papercuts - Lisa Isaacs. I don't remember how or when I happened upon Lisa Isaac's blog, Handmade in Israel, but I do know I enjoy her posts. Even as a young child, Lisa was sure an art career was in her future as she has always been busy with her hands and making things. In addition to sharing her latest paper cutting projects on the blog, Lisa features events, holidays, local foods and flora, and trips taken with her family to interesting Israeli locations.

She has a degree in Graphic Design from John Moores University in Liverpool and worked as a graphic designer and art director before her children came along, all the while making special cards to send to family and friends. Lisa approached a local store that immediately took on her cards, and has been cutting and sticking bits of paper ever since. A special niche is personalized Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah albums. Because her work looks so precise, you might suspect Lisa relies heavily on a die cutting system, but this is not the case. Art 1. Optical Design. Charley Harper Notepad Tutorial.

Last week, while reading this post from Creature Comforts I discovered that Old Navy (of all places) was carrying a line of Charley Harper products! I was so thrilled, that I dashed out the very next day to pick up my own set of memory game cards to make these gift tags. When I got back home I realized that there wasn’t really any way that I would be able to make the gift tags the same way because I don’t have a drill to make the hole (in my excitement to purchase the set I completely forgot this detail). So, I stared at the colorful box of cardboard tiles for a good fifteen minutes trying to figure out how I was going to use them, which eventually gave me the idea for this tutorial: a colorful notepad using recycled papers. I am really pleased with how the project turned out and figured I just had to share this before Christmas because it will make the PERFECT last minute gift for anyone that you know.
