Croissants A La Julia Child. In honor of my culinary hero Julia Child and upcoming movie about her life Julie & Julia (where Meryl Streep plays Julia Child, and Julie Powell is played by Amy Adams) I decided to bake one of her recipes from her TV show The French Chef With Julia Child 2 – Croissants. Although the process might sound intimidating it is in fact quite simple. Hey – if a rookie like Julia could make it, you can make it too! I will go with you step-by step as presented by Julia in her show.

Read along – it is fun and delicious! Julia Child, More Than A Character I was extremely excited to hear of the Julie & Julia movie and from what I’ve seen of the trailer, Meryl Streep does an outstanding acting in playing the role of this extraordinary woman! Le Croissant Considered the donut rival in America (and rightly so), the croissant gained quick popularity in every pastry shop, continental breakfast plate, and even in donut chains. Cake Batter & Sprinkle Bark

I really do. The funny thing is, I had popped by Jessica’s blog from time to time when I would spot her yummy treats linked by friends on twitter, but I didn’t really get a chance to sit down and really take a good long look through her recipes until this past week. That’s when I came across the sprinkled masterpiece of epic proportion: her cake batter chocolate bark. Much like Jessica, I wasn’t what I’d really consider a “bark person” until this recipe came along, but what’s so fabulous about it, aside from the obvious delightfulness, is that it took me 5 minutes active time to make this (and about 5 to eat it–whoops).

That’s the incredible thing about this, and about bark recipes in general: you take existing chocolate (of any kind, but the better the chocolate, the better it will be, since it’s really the only ingredient), melt it down, spread it out, add some bits & bites of yumminess, set it, break it and . . . ta-da! Chobani Ice Cream. Happy Friday everyone!!

Chobani Ice Cream

I’m really excited for this weekend because for me, it’s an extended one! Me and the fam are heading to the beach for a long weekend to celebrate Mom’s 50th Birthday! (Sorry for blowing up your spot, Ma!) I’ll be posting from the beach and me and my sister are planning and packing up for healthy beach meals and some beachfront running. Woohoo!! Since it is Friday and I am super-excited to get one last beach weekend in for the year, I thought I would share with you my Chobani experiment from earlier this week Drum roll….. MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP FROZEN CHOBANI (or froCHO)!!!! This is something I have wanted to experiment with for quite some time.

So, before I create a healthy and tasty option for BF, I wanted to experiment on my own in the kitchen with it. I add not even 1/8 of a teaspoon of peppermint extract to the 16 oz container of yogurt. Apple Pancake Rings.
