Written by sinsemillaplease . This guide is intended to inform you of your constitutional rights while in the presence of law enforcement officers (LEOs) while on foot, behind the wheel, as a passenger and in your residence. The information I have provided is based on my knowledge of the constitution and case law (I’m pre-law), information provided by Norml and flexyourrights.org, local conferences on racial profiling, and a fair share of common sense. The laws cited here apply in the United States.
Nearly two pounds of still-green plant material found in a 2,700-year-old grave in the Gobi Desert has just been identified as the world's oldest marijuana stash, according to a paper in the latest issue of the Journal of Experimental Botany. A barrage of tests proves the marijuana possessed potent psychoactive properties and casts doubt on the theory that the ancients only grew the plant for hemp in order to make clothing, rope and other objects. They apparently were getting high too.

If you happen to be a medical marijuana patient like me, you’re well aware that there are lots of folks who still harbor some enormous moral judgments about cannabis and those who use it medically — even in the states where it is legal. If you aren’t a patient, chances are you may either already know one, or soon will. As the acceptance of the medical use of pot grows, so does the number of patients choosing this option. So let’s talk about those moral judgments. Medical marijuana patients are too often given to understand that we should somehow feel vaguely guilty about the relief that we get through using the herb. We are given, intentionally or not, little cues which seem to carry the message “You are a little less than entirely acceptable to polite society.”

Home >> Research >> Flin Flon >> Open Letter Open Letter of Concern for the Health and Safety of Canada's Medicinal Cannabis Community In August of 2003, in response to a court order by Ontario Justice Lederman addressing a lawsuit initiated by medicinal cannabis users and suppliers, (1) Health Canada began the distribution of cannabis products being cultivated by Prairie Plant Systems to a small percentage of the nation's federally licensed users. From the outset of the 5-year, $5.7 million cultivation contract awarded to PPS in 2001, medical users and patient-advocacy organizations have raised concerns with Health Canada over the safety and quality of the federal supply of cannabis.

An article by D.M. Murdock written in August 2010 and entitled “Why hemp could save the world” states: “Hemps prohibition has led to untold suffering around the globe. If we—the global human population—had been able to grow the miracle plant hemp (Cannabis genus) locally and to use it for local industries and businesses, including and especially for fuel, we would never have needed to be addicted to oil, for one, an addiction that is at the root of much misery.
That title probably should say, "Why hemp could have saved the world all along," because the plant should never have been banned in the first place, and its prohibition has led to untold suffering around the globe. If we—the global human population—had been able to grow the miracle plant hemp ( Cannabis genus) locally and to use it for local industries and businesses, including and especially for fuel, we would never have needed to be addicted to oil, for one, an addiction that is at the root of much misery. We would never have allowed ourselves to be lorded over by international oil-mongers whose crimes against humanity have become legion, including wholesale invasion of other lands and slaughter of countless people. None of this oil-related horror—along with the deplorable degradation of the environment globally—would have occurred if hemp had not been prohibited but had been used wisely and intelligently as a major foundation of human society.
