How to Install Android SDK on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Ubuntu (latest version: 12.04 LTS) is now the most popular GNU/Linux distribution on this planet; Android, the most popular operating system for Mobile Devices, both are rocking! If you are a Android Developer (or an absolute beginner) – who wants to use Ubuntu as the development platform OR an Ubuntu user interested in developing Android Applications – then this post might be helpful in setting up Android Development Environment on Ubuntu 12.04 (a.k.a Precise Pangolin). Although, the setup process is primarily explained for Ubuntu 12.04 but it may works seamlessly on other GNU/Linux systems such as Linux Mint, Debian, OpenSuse, Fedora etc (and of course you would have to replace apt-get by yum in RPM based distro).

Since Android uses Java as the programming language so you must install Java Development Kit (JDK) such as OpenJDK (Open Source implementation), followed by the Eclipse IDE and ADT plugins required for Android Development. Step 1. Sudo apt-get install eclipse-jdt step 2. Wifi | apkGiant. Droid Apps — Best Android Apps. The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service. Browsing Kernel. Browsing effsi. This version introduces performance tuning, power management control, and an optional MMC I/O queue extension/timing change.

For those of you who have seen reboots / black screens that seem to be caused by Seeder, I suspect it may be due to the power management implemented in previous versions. Disabling power management (by unchecking "Suspend RNG service while screen off") may help. In my testing, battery impact was negligible (less than 2% per 24h). The performance profiles are Light, Moderate, and Aggressive, and they control how frequently rngd wakes. Last but not least, the "Extend I/O queue" option increases the nr_requests on MMC devices to 1024, and increases the dirty page expiry time, allowing more outstanding writes to accumulate. Feedback appreciated! On some (older) versions of Android, the JVM (and other components) often read random data from the blocking /dev/random device.

It will probably work with most other MTD-based ROMs and kernels but will not work with any BML ROM or kernel. Use at your own risk! NS4G modem patch on CM7/9/10 based roms, nightlies and previews- 2/12/13 Hi, I made this thread because people have been asking me what to do to make a ROM compatible with the Nexus S 4G modem and RIL, so I made a flashable zip so you can use the modem and RIL on any CM7 based ROM (like MIUI or JoyOS or whatever you fancy).

Note: If using a ROM not on this list, use the closest cm patch corresponding to the os and then download the phone and settings apks from the nexus s 4g Roms and either put them in the zip or push them. That way, roaming and update prl and profile will work. I included the KL2 modem in each AIO zip. If you do not like it, or would like to try other modem files, try the flashable zips here: Quote: CM9 (Roaming Fixed) Instructions: Just flash this in CWM.

If you don't like it or there is a problem, simply reboot to recovery and wipe all. Few people have experienced losing there IMEI after flashing. It is HIGHLY recommended making a backup of your IMEI before flashing anymore roms. Make a backup of your IMEI / MEID / EFS Data in case you need to restore it in the event that it is lost after a flash. This will put a copy of efs.sbn on the root of your internal sdcard.
