One Direction have broken a US chart record with their latest single. The boyband's new hit 'Live While We're Young' has registered the biggest opening week sales for a single by a non-US artist ever. The track sold 341,000 copies since its release on October 1, topping both the US Digital Tracks and Digital Songs charts. "We're so happy with the success of the single in the USA and can't wait for everyone to hear our new album," said Niall Horan. "Thank you to all the fans once again! " The music video for One Direction's 'Live While We're Young' became the most-viewed video in 24 hours ever on VEVO last month, after accumulating 8.24 million views in a day. The group bettered the previous record holder, Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend', which tallied up 8 million in 24 hours earlier this year.

One Direction's second studio album Take Me Home will be released in the UK on November 12 and a day later in the US. One Direction have notched up two million digital sales of their debut single What Makes You Beautiful in the US, making it double platinum.

The British boy band sold 146,405 copies of the track last week, taking total sales to 2,060,303 since its release in February. The track peaked at No 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and has also been featured in an episode of Glee. And their debut album Up All Night is still selling strongly in the US too, clocking 40,188 sales last week - which took it past 600,000 copies in total. The former X Factor contestants became the first British group ever to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart.
