Bottle it up

Like sunshine, blue skies and THE OCEAN…if you have access to it, that is. Which I don’t. And I know it’s only January but I’m already Jonesing for spring. So, to scratch the itch, I decided to go with beach hair. Problem was I needed sea spray to get the really beachy look and texture. So with much hesitation and skepticism I took on the task of making my own, with stuff I already had around the house. BELIEVE me when I tell you, this is BY FAR the best sea spray I have ever used, EVER.

RECIPE: 1 Cup WARM water 3 Tablespoons Sea Salt 1 Tablespoon Gel or Spray Gel 1/2 Tablespoon Conditioner (or leave-in) A couple spritzes of your favorite perfume DIRECTIONS: Mix Warm water and salt first and shake well. Craft, DIY, Art, and Beauty: Triple Twist Ponytail Updo. In homage to the 40s rolled curl look I decided to create this three twist ponytail updo.

Craft, DIY, Art, and Beauty: Triple Twist Ponytail Updo

It's a bit softer than the more structured rolled curls of the past, with more volume. This is how I did it. Step 1) Brushed and ready to go. Step 2) Pull up the middle section of hair on top of your head. Back comb at its base. Step 3) This is the first twist. Step 4) Pin the twist down in the back. Step 5) Parted in the middle I start twisting back. Step 6) Keep twisting and pinning as you go. Step 7) Do the same on the other side. Step 8) Gather all the hair you've just twisted back and create a low ponytail. Step 9) If you like, cover the ponytail holder by wrapping a small section of hair around the base, pinning it in place.

Rainy Day Nails

It is raining, snowing, and windy here. The darkness of the days makes me a bit more gloomy than usual. So, in keeping with the mood of the weather, I painted my nails to look like the rainy day outside. I like how messy you can be with this design. Don't worry about smudges or drops that are different sizes. Ingredients: Gray, Light Blue, and White nail polish (I used a white art deco bottle with a long skinny brush)ToothpicksClear Top Coat First put on a couple coats of gray. With a toothpick add drops of light blue on the gray. With the white add streaks of white and small white dots.
