I've used it several times, mainly cooking on low heat. I find that the crock pots with timers tend to cook a little hotter than the older crock pots without a timer, so I generally use low heat, and I cook for the lesser length of time listed on the recipe before I let the crock pot switch to warm. This way, the meat doesn't fall apart, but it is still tender and juicy. I'm giving the crock pot 4 stars, because sometimes I would like to cook at high temperature for an hour, and then I would like it to switch to low temperature for a while before switching to warm. I was in love with the colors and the way the plates and bowls were shaped as well as the quality of Noritake products i had in the past. After a year or so, I began to notice gray streaks on my plates and bowls, which I brought to the attention of the store where I purchased them. They told me that they had never seen this before and that it must be something I was doing; using the wrong dishwasher product, using the wrong type of silverware, etc. They suggested that I buy another product and use it to remove the streaks from my dishes occasionally. I was not a new bride and was well aware of the fact it was not my fault at all. I had been using the same dishwasher product for years and the silverware as well.
