RRRRRRRRRREPTARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! I believe in Christ first and foremost. Everything else is obsolete... Um I'm not perfect, so let's not judge each other... I am entering the most critical period of my life. I don't know where I'm going but I know that this is all part of a greater plan God has for me. I hope to learn from my mistakes, and live life with no regrets. To be slow to speak and apply thought to my actions. Simply: "live.love.learn." "all i ask of all of you is that you do the same, live in the moment and remember every little thing. every second. that's how life should be lived. where every second counts." christen

Short Film of the Day: Stuxnet: Anatomy of a Computer Virus

Why Watch? Because we should challenge how we define a film. Most of the shorts featured in this column are either easy to spot as stories or completely experimental. Even when a documentary short is in the spotlight, it tells a clear tale of people doing things.
As a Survival and Preparedness instructor, I take my line of work very serious – sometimes too serious. Occasionally, though, I like to take on survival projects that are just down right fun. This article highlights one of those projects. I’m fortunate in that I’ve been able to turn my passion into my profession – this being the study of Survival and Preparedness. I’ve always enjoyed building survival kits of all shapes and sizes. I enjoy the challenge of fitting life saving survival necessities into small compact containers.

Cheap and Easy Gravity Water Filter

When I’m off hunting and fishing at the camp, I usually bring clean water. But I like to have backup option. The thing is that « real » and safe filters are way too expensive to use merely as backups. That’s why I like to use chlorine dioxide (by Pristine), that give a better taste than Iodine.

Hmm- I both agree and disagree with you guys, Zark and Althestane- I only disagree on that the chances of advanced societies being nil because we find eveidence more and more about early man being more advanced than previously though. Plus, we have to consider the age those ancient metropolises (is that plural for metropolis?), and also the difficulty of preserving even the hearty stuff. There's an article in the news right now about finding evidence for a 300 yr old church in Florida. 300 years, and they had to dig up the wall to discover it. just like they do with Mesopotamian cities and temples. http://io9.com/5807485/a-surprising-discovery-about-how-ancient-romans-used-lead-pipes-for-food

A Father Who Creatively Captures His Kids (20 photos)

If there was a prize that could be given out to the most creative father, I'd hope that it was awarded to Jason Lee. A wedding photographer by day, he's used to capturing some of the most important moments in a couple's lives. As a longtime fan of Jason's photos on Flickr however, I think the real magic happens when he turns the camera onto his daughters. Sure, his children are adorably cute in their own right, but that's not what makes his photos so interesting. It's when he puts his own spin on their everyday moments that we not only get to experience our own childhood again, we're able to see a father's pride shine through. I was able to get in touch with Jason to ask him a few questions.

1 | SCAR-Light The effort to replace the M-16 rifle , as well as its more compact variant, the M4 , has been a long, epic and largely tragic tale. One attempt would have created a modular weapon system, called the Objective Individual Combat Weapon (OICW) , with an integrated grenade launcher and laser-rangefinder. That all-in-one system was scrapped because of excessive weight, and subsequent attempts to salvage the core of that weapon—the XM8 assault rifle—have also failed, highlighting some of the worst aspects of the weapons procurement process.
