Policy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Policy A policy is typically described as a principle or rule to guide decisions and achieve rational outcomes. The term is not normally used to denote what is actually done, this is normally referred to as either procedure [ 1 ] or protocol. Policies are generally adopted by the Board of or senior governance body within an organization whereas procedures or protocols would be developed and adopted by senior executive officers. Policies can assist in both subjective and objective decision making.
Background: Global Network for Good Governance (GNGG) is an international network of persons and organizations who are concerned about governance issues within Cameroon and Africa. Conceived at the International Development Law Organisation (IDLO) in 1999, GNGG’s comprehensive approach achieves enduring results by mobilizing stakeholders at all levels of society for meaningful social change. GNGG has direct access to government leaders, institutions and multilateral organizations in developing countries, including lawyers, jurists, policy makers, advocates, academics and other civil society representatives.

The general case against austerity has been well made: the economy moves into a cycle of decline. Let us suppose that current policy fails, that it becomes clear that the freed-up market is not bringing growth within the current parliament, and so even more money needs to be saved. One possible path to follow is greater austerity for the rich.
