I enjoy my food simple and these two dishes are so simple but do not lack flavor. Braised Squash with Wilted Spinach: Pan fry summer squash in olive oil (I enjoyed using my garlic oil here) with an herb of your choosing. I went with tarragon.
Preparation Place tofu in a colander; set a heavy pot on top 10 to 15 minutes to press out moisture. Halve; sprinkle soy sauce, garlic powder, then flour over halves. Heat 1 tablespoon oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet.
The complete meal, from left: braised tofu, bok choy and pancakes. (Michael Shick) A few weeks ago, I was in San Francisco, having dinner at a restaurant called Café Gratitude , which serves food that is vegan, gluten-free and raw. Each dish is named with an affirmation (“I Am Sensational” is the pesto pizza, made with buckwheat sunflower seed flatbread crust; “I Am Thankful,” coconut-curry soup), and you must say them aloud when you order. When I asked for an “I Am Sassy” — sort of like a lemonade — my sweet-eyed waiter responded “You are sassy!” as a way of both acknowledging my order and confirming my essential sassiness.
31 August 2005 Schezuan Noodles : I think I figured it out, but this is still a beta version. I've missed this dish for years as no one in Texas seems to make it. Years ago, I'd meet Alan and Taffese in NYC's Chinatown for dinner following the Shing Yi Class at the Centre Street Kwoon.

November 10, 2008 | By Adam Roberts | 210 Comments You know you’ve done something right with broccoli when the person you made it for describes it to someone else the next day as “better than biting into a steak .” Those were Craig’s words and they were a marked change from the first words he uttered about the broccoli, before he bit in: “You made broccoli for dinner? Broccoli and sweet potatoes?”
Today's vegetarian recipe: A one-pot pasta recipe. Cook the greens first, then cook the pasta in the same water. Toss with olives and feta. Devour! Weight Watchers 6 points.
Lemon Roasted Beets with Feta Beets. I know. You don't like them. Neither did I for many many years.
Today's unusual asparagus recipe: Spears of asparagus quick-cooked, topped with grated Parmesan and dotted butter, then roasted. Low carb. Delicate, dark and dreamy. ~recipe & photo updated & republished 2012~ ~ more recently updated recipes ~
