Community versus individuality: within post-war urbanism Amsterdam Osdorp was built in the 1960ties and is since a few years in a process of urban renewal. The ambition of the program is to create a bigger variety of more individual housing types serving the middle class. Big parts of the existing building structures with mostly small apartments are demolished and replaced by bigger, more contemporary homes.
One of the important questions that arose during the process is how to deal with the urban and architectural heritage of post-war modernism. The building project is situated in the southern part of the “Masterplan Zuidwest-Kwadrant”. The building project takes the very relaxed urban setting as direct starting point for the organisation of the houses and tries to find a convincing solution for the parking.

Most visitors come here in Spring, to admire the blooming flower fields in amusement park the Keukenhof.

Understand[edit] Although you will probably be heading for the Keukenhof when visiting Lisse, the town itself has a few things to offer beside that famous park. Lisse and the Keukenhof park are located in Zuid-Holland close to Hillegom and south of Haarlem, southwest of Amsterdam. History[edit] With first records mentioning the then village of Lisse in 1198, it has a fairly long history. The current Keukenhof Castle (opposite the Keukenhof park) was build around 1642, by Adriaen Maertensz. Row houses are still the most prevalent residential form in the Netherlands, and architects devote much effort to their development. In doing so, however, they are confronted with a paradox. On the one hand, new constructions codes, as well as very scarce funding, have reduced practicable housing types to an absolute minimum, while on the other, clients are searching for something unusual to distinguish themselves from their neighbors.
This project conceptualizes this situation while simultaneously seeking to evade it. Korallen als Vorbild Rating: 3.8/6 (6 votes cast) Im niederländischen Groningen bauten Bahama Architekten ein Wohnhaus mit einer auffälligen Fassadengestaltung. Das Bild von versteinerten Korallen inspirierte die Planer zu einer perforierten Außenwand, die für spannende Lichteffekte sorgt: Am Tag fällt Licht durch die Öffnungen ins Innere, so dass ein Spiel aus Licht und Schatten die Flächen belebt. Am Abend richtet sich der faszinierende Effekt, den die perforierte Fassade erzeugt, vor allem nach außen, wenn viele kleine Lichtpunkte wie Sterne leuchten.

Ein verglaster Kubus in Farbe, der in 5 unterirdischen Stockwerken das holländische Videoarchiv beherbergt und überirdisch in der „Beeld en Geluid Experience“ große Teile dieses Archivs für Jung und Alt interaktiv und äußerst unterhaltsam zugänglich macht. „Hilversum“ Hilversum, 30 km südöstlich von Amsterdam gelegen, ist DIE Medienstadt in Holland. An ideal city as a penal colony Veenhuizen was founded at the beginning of the 19th century as an open reformatory for the “disorderly underclass”, with the aim to educate and re-socialise people.
Soon after the opening of the institute the idealistic, progressive concept of a reformable society was left. After a reformation in the prison system many of the classic buildings remained without a function. Arranged cleansing: classicistic origin The ‘Crafts cluster’ is an integral part of the Gesamtkunstwerk Veenhuizen, which has a national monument status. To achieve this goal almost 40% of the existing building mass had to be demolished. New historic layer: the new façade elements After tidying the complete craftscluster as an ensemble, also the separate buildings were remodelled.
