Full List of Non Organic Ingredients Allowed in Organic Food

She had just read my post about Cornucopia Institute’s recent investigation dubbed the “Organic Watergate” (rightly so) and the harmful ingredient carrageenan that is allowed in organic foods. The article I posted was entitled 38 Non-Organic Ingredients Found in USDA Organic Foods. Although dated 2007, I found the reasons for allowing these ingredients to be fascinating. A majority of the foods were allowed because no other substitute from an organic supplier was widely available or for economic reasons. Majority of the foods were allowed only after companies submitted specific petitions to the USDA to include them. Because the article was outdated a bit, I thought it would be prudent to easily make available the whole list of ingredients that are currently legally allowed in organic food.

I obtained this list from the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations ECFR and is current as of May 22, 2012. The Secret to the Absolutely Best Soap Recipe. Fatty Acids and Soap Making

Well, the fatty acid content of your ingredients will largely determine the characteristics found within your finished product. It's that important! Whether your bar ends up with a creamy lather or a bubbly lather, turns out hard or soft, has conditioning properties or great cleansing abilities depends largely on what fatty acids make up the ingredients you are using.

Remember that your acids (soap making oils) are made up of a combination of different fatty acids. I came up with this integrated saponification table to kind of give you an idea of what the oil with its particular fatty acid combination will do to your soap. Keep in mind that not all soap makers care to learn about this information. CANNABINOIDSOCIETY.ORG. CANNABINOIDSOCIETY.ORG. Oil Press. The Re-emergence of CBD—A Brief History

GW’s co-founder Geoffrey Guy, MD, was convinced—and had convinced the Home Office—that by using CBD-rich plants, GW could produce a cannabis-based medicine with little or no psychoactive effect. That summer Guy described his approach at a meeting of the International Cannabinoid Research Society (ICRS). In addition to countering the psychoactivity of THC, Guy said, CBD conferred benefits of its own.
