Another thing that sparks my many feelings is the idea of exercising with another person. Conventional exercise wisdom encourages getting a workout buddy because it will give you both accountability. Some programs encourage taking this to the next level by having competitions with your exercise partner (who can run fastest, do the most push-ups, drag the heaviest car by your teeth).

I personally find having an exercise partner to be either great or terrible, depending on the day, with no particular rhyme or reason. I often enjoy group exercise classes, particularly dance classes or yoga. The Health At Every Size®* approach encourages engaging in enjoyable movement to a degree that feels good to your body.
