Kreate Your Own Kaleidoscope! By MARIA SETZER of Sweden FrenchKissed July Artist in Residence This is a project making a simple but beautiful Kaleidoscope.

Kreate Your Own Kaleidoscope!

This is quite an easy project to make as long as you manage the trick of fitting the mirrors into the cylinder. It is great to make together with kids as most children just love to see through a kaleidoscope and it is really exciting to show them that you actually can make your own. This one is a simple version, viewed by turning the entire cylinder, not twisting two parts in different directions. Kaleidoscope Supplies First, you will need a strong cylinder. Step One Cut the cylinder into two pieces: one about 8 inches and the other about 1/2-inch. The Triangle Mirror Cut the plastic mirror into 3 pieces. To fit my tube, I made each mirror part 8 inches long and 1.2 inches wide. Tape the 3 pieces together, mirrors facing inward, and gently push the triangle into the cylinder. The Colorful End PieceNow, let's turn our attention to the small cylinder part.

Amazingly Strange Handmade Dolls, Puppets & Sculpture

Dolls have long held a singular ability to unintentionally scare the daylights out of children and adults alike, for reasons that aren’t always easy to voice. But some artists have learned to use that inherent creepiness to their advantage in making strange and surreal yet often elegant and intricate art dolls, figurative sculpture and puppets. From otherworldly ball-jointed dolls to sculptures that could easily be props in a horror movie, these works of art are definitely not toys.

V and Co how to: jersey knit bracelet. I don't know what it is about this time of year that makes me just want to have my bare feet in the sand, be watching the sun setting into the ocean, and breathing in the warm salty air of the beach...as i get older, more and more i find myself missing that place i used to go to almost every.single.day. as a teen.

(my skin doesn't miss it. as a matter of fact, i now wish i listened more and DID put SPF on my face...hindsight is 20/20). my mom calls me from her walk on the beach almost every morning... *sigh*yeah, i get a little homesick around this time of the year. heck on my pinterest my "dreaming of summer" has the most pictures in it. ah yes. i miss my ocean. case in point. this bracelet, brought a flood of memories, not because i used to have one like it but because i can totally see me wearing it by the beach, not caring that it's gotten salty and wet, because i can totally make another one in like less than 5 minutes flat when i get home. *sigh* Lil Blue Boo.
