Saltash.net honoured at Microsoft Global Forum 2014 Tweaked awards ramp up roles of teachers and, for first time, students at ForumScott Wieprecht, a maths teacher at Saltash.net Community School in Cornwall, and four of his students who tweet as the @OffPerts on Twitter, were second runners-up for the “Cutting Edge Use of ICT for Learning” award at the prestigious Microsoft In Education Global Forum 2014 in Barcelona.
It was the very first time students had been so closely involved in the event. In a radical move, they worked on judging, particularly of the new "Learnathon" section of the awards which proved very popular, and they impressed everyone with their work and the quality of their questions (they revealed in a tweet that they had opted for three of the six winners).
