For as long as its torch of azure light illuminated the city of Shambhala from high atop the King's Tower, peace and prosperity endured over all the earth.

But the stone's magical allure proved an irresistible draw to those who sought to possess it for their own evil designs. So the guardians of the stone, in their unselfish wisdom, devised a plan to prevent such power from ever being in the hands of a single man. They split the stone into three pieces. Then each supernatural fragment was secretly placed in the trusted hands of a great warrior and carried to the far reaches of the earth. The price of sacrifice was high for the kingdom of Shambhala. With the Baton of Shambhala no longer imbued with the mystical stone's power, the ills of life once held at bay suddenly began to eat away at Shambhala's cocoon of hidden paradise. The city’s hardy citizens held onto life for ten languishing years before the Angel of Death finally claimed the city with an undiscriminating scourge of disease.

Hang in there sky it is a huge subject and very obscured. i'm dedicated to it at the moment, am researching and getting facts together, but i have limited time only. my thoughts still wander around the spiritual aspect of shambala. it is said that only the most pure at heart and most enlightened have access to it. and to that shambala land in mongolia is the closest thing that it can get to. shambala land is a holy place in the gobi. for a long time there was a monastery called Khamar of the red hat system. i think. but maybe it was founded by this man: the russian communists destroyed nearly every monastery in mongolia during their stay. of course khamar was amongst them. today khamar is getting rebuilt by devotees to the newly emerging buddhist movement. mongolians still think of him as their saint and call that part of the gobi 'sambala'. danzanravjaa.org... and a great site how this beautiful place in the middle of the gobi looks like today.

The Story of Shambhala | The First Gates. "Song of Shambhala" by Nicholas Roerich, 1943 The fictional earthly paradise of Shangri-La, discussed in my previous post, derives from early Buddhist teachings about Shambhala, a remote realm of advanced spiritual practitioners. Shambhala is discussed in the Kalachakra Tantra, which Shakyamuni Buddha is said to have taught the Shambhala King, Dawa Sangpo, and 96 lesser rulers, over 2500 years ago. The King taught all the citizens, since this practice leads to rapid enlightenment, which he hoped would enable them to withstand a threatened invasion.

This is the same “Kalachakra for World Peace,” that the Dalai Lama conferred last July in Washington, DC. “World Peace,” does not mean it makes one a blessed-out pacifist. Kalachakra means, “Wheel of Time,” and explores the cycles that affect individuals and the world at large. When Padmasambhava introduced Buddhism to Tibet in the 7th century, he incorporated into the new Buddhist doctrine many of the older folk beliefs and teachings of the Bon religion of Tibet practiced before his arrival.
